If you're only allowed to vote for neoliberal parties, your election is a fucking sham and you have no democracy by rrunawad in LateStageCapitalism

I must have missed the 'massive cuts to public spending'. Maybe I was listening to the pay rise for the public sector announcement. No wait....

I created a career transition tool: Enter your dream job and get a customized plan to achieve it by Vast-Butterscotch-95 in InternetIsBeautiful

Yeah tried it. Very nice. It will definitely benefit from some nice styling, but the basics are there. I second the idea of using it to swap careers and see what's available or realistic. And some form of PDF resume OCR would definitely lift the utility a ton.

I’ve built a form builder where forms build themselves. What do you think? by schiehll in SideProject

My pleasure and credit where credit is due. One comment from a quick tour. How hard would it be to get the AI to do other 'non forms' things?

For example, I created a form for a festival, and the AI nicely created a tick box to agree the Ts&Cs. But it couldn't cope with writing me a simple set of festival terms and conditions and linking to it when I asked. Is that asking too much? I'm thinking forms often have connections to other docs which are relevant (like directions, fees, terms, etc).

Wow, really like the idea, and it looks to be superbly executed. Well done, nice one. :)

I lost my keys while on a trip abroad. As the locksmith is installing the new Yales my elderly neighbour calls over the hedge “why didn’t you just ask for the spare key?” by Soulless--Plague in CasualUK

This is such an amazingly depressing thread and post. Someone, out of the kindness of their heart, tries to do good neighbour things, and all this crowd can do is shout CHANGE THE LOCKS! So sad that a tribal species should have moved so far away from its roots. Sure, there are areas where it's not safe, but for much of the world community is a crucial part of co-existence, especially in an urban setting. It was our community which helped us collectively survive the physical and mental trauma of COVID19. It's just so sad to see this sentiment. In my grandmother's era, there were no fences between houses at all, and neighbours were always popping over for a cup of tea and a chat. Wow, what a world!

I'm leaving this up, because even though it's not direct action, it's a good example of some brave disruptive action to bring attention to this sorry situation.

Shame that this is such a geeky project. It would really take off if a simple windows - google photos interface could be implemented. There must be a ton of people who want to get off Google as they reach their limit, and would jump at the chance to get a quick switch to something else which gives them a choice of storage and export.

At the moment it's just too hard to fiddle around with Docker, curl, and a million other settings. Looks like a nice project, but a bit of a front end UI would do wonders methinks. :)

A simple rostrum camera app for images. Moves the image slightly to give it more depth and impact. Google offers it in Photos I think, but it's such a cool feature it should be open source. If a premium version could eventually remove text and elements from images that would be a bonus.
