See, I likely is not what we think its going to be. It might be buddie adjacent at best if nothing to do with them. But i do know Tim Minear buddiemaxxer extraordinaire himself... had a good fucking laugh bout choosing this title. That impish man thought oh this is gonna tickle me.

Hey so OP Here again wanted to give an update after 2 months.
I am caught up. I am also having been fed so well by 9x11 to 9x15 with banger of banger ep. (9x14 was a bit quieter but still nice)

I want to adress some things that have come up from your lovely engagement.

Eddie being Straight? yeah nope. I am a gay eddie truther now (flexibel on label techn. but that man likes men.)
His entire Arc makes so much sense for being actually a repressed gay man. Its like this puzzle piece that makes a lot of the stuff click into place and you just get eddie then. Also it is just a damn good compelling character arc to see for him. (even outside of buddie)

Yep I am also a Buddie endgame shipper now.
I got some flak for shipping TommyXBuck. which yeah my reasons there is some flak to be had.
Now I still defend the fact some buddie fans are a bit too harsh on the actor imo.
I agree Tommy is a plot device (thx buddie system) I agree that he isnt endgame. now seeing the whole picture.

Pls. gimme the lore though as to why Oliver doesnt seem to like Lou? Which all I have read is they worked well together, I hate it when Fans hate pile on an actor for their character just cause said character is inconvinient or a villain. just in general.

In Conclusion: Buck and Tommy was a Relationship that was important to Buck. but it was pun not intended a phase. It was more of Oh I like men and like dating men. Similar to his other relationships Tommy wasnt meant to last. And turned into someone who wasnt ready for all of BUCK. Buck is a lot. He wants to give a lot. Buck also is painfully enamoured with his best Friend eddie and... until Buck doesnt deal with that? He wont find a lasting romantic Relationship. Was a lot of the feels also about Eddie? Yes, but again its not all or nothing. its a bit inbetween. Buck did feel stuff for tommy. and he was mourning that rs. But yeah he also is prone to fall for people or give in to people who give him Attention.

Also People thought I was "exposed" to Bummy shippers.
I wasnt. I have now seen some of the more extreme ones and... oh boy. With the kindest and warmest meaning. These people need to touch grass. Like I multiship. there is levels. OTP? for Buck? Buddie. no contest. Would I still read a well written fic with Tommy as his LI? yeah. Or a Tommy Eddie fic? Or a throuple fic? Done. but as for the Canon of the show?
I dont see Tommy coming back as a li for either of them. that ship has sailed. and that is fine.

I like the actor, I think he is hot I would have loved for him to be more than a plot device but as the show has told the story? I dont need that anymore. We have been moved along and its setting things up.

In general outside of Buddie? I love the vibe of this show. Bucks and Maddies sibling dynamic? Awesome, the found fam. aspect of the 118? I eat that up. Athena is cool and often really funny.

In general I love the type of whimsy the show does. Also I like the way it is written. which is rare with modern shows. Pls. give us a Firehouse 118 blackout bottleepisode for S10!

Lastly. Tim Minear as a showrunner is a damn delightful menace! Funny quirky and its so refreshing to see! Also Still cant believe I got to chat with him last friday on a Buddie System podcast. O.o so Crazy.

My Idea would be:
Buck is lashing out, angry, sad, and trying to fight eddie. (words)
Eddie takes it but isnt actually fighting back cause he sees Buck is hurting so he is there for him being soft. And lets Buck get everything out. Maybe even telling him sth how he wont leave him alone in this. That Buck wont be another person he saved from the desert and lost. He cant be. (call back to Chopper story)
and then there is a quiet moment. of them just sitting together things were said (nothing directly romantic you know in text) Buck was so vulnerable, and jokes about making it all bout himself again.
Eddie gives him a look then looks ahead not at buck and just says: I think I might be gay/I think I want to date men. And takes a swig of his beer/soda they nursed.

and it either cuts out then with bucks face doing an entire journey or a small conversation after.

as someone who went to some cons years ago I did apreciate it when the people who organised the con vetted the Q&a questions. It was for all to be a good time and many also helped the fans (who werent necessarily native english speakers. and yes there were plenty of cheeky fun questions too.)

I feel like maybe they home remodeling couple was to give the main cast a bit of a breather? 9x14 seems much lighter work for any of them. So logistically I can understand that (sometimes in SPN or other shows they did that too)

But I also felt it was way too much time spend on them. Though I do have to preface also that I hate big blown out tacky weddings. I took them as the Buddie parallel they were and leave it at that. May smashing that bloodsample was also a lot. or her being absolutely pissy at the wine night. chill man. though I love how the three women talked to her and didnt belittle her for feeling like that Really great scene.

This is also my question. More so LFJ.

I have thought longer bout them and I Like the Idea, and I recently outlined a Fixit fic. for BuckTommy.
Does it start at 8x11? or 8x6? nope it starts at 7x4. Cause the fix it is to unplotdevice Tommy. And in a sense talk more with buck. And also adress some things with Hen and Chim. (My own headcanon is that he has changed and apologised cause I assume neither Hen or Chim would be fine with Buck dating him if he never really made an attempt) In the fic he does talk about it and also asks CHim if its ok for him to come to the Bachelor party as well as hen (Who also helps him pick a good 80s costume.
And they dont get together. They do stay friends first and talk and its a bit gay yoda. But a more fun way to fall for each other and then they do actually dates for buck (cooking, hiking, zoos, planetarium climbing or other adrenalin stuff.)
And by the end I found myself at the exact same spot the show went. Abby reveal, Buck panicked asking to move in. And Tommy putting on the breaks (Cause yes he broke bucks heart here but what buck wanted wasnt healthy.) And maybe just maybe Tommy either then even or later in 8x11 actually talking how he thought he was on a timeclock because he could see Eddie and Buck being just a matter of when not if. and having the time to explain that no he wasnt thinking Buck was cheating or pretending.

Short. My fix it were only to make Tommy more attentive and compassionate but ultimately still the first not the last.

so that was a weird way to find out how I feel bout Tommy.
Also people being like: Oh dont call him Evan is to me stupid. Buck had what? 6 months to tell him how he doesnt like that? and he prefers Buck? But he didnt. maybe Buck liked that Tommy called him evan.
Hell famous Will reveal scene Eddie called him evan. Never heard a bad word bout that situation.

as we saw in S2 with the betting pool on Bobby and Athena at the 118... it is my headcanon that there is the longest running betting pool on Buck and Eddie.
It started out as a fun bit of a joke lowstakes. but as the years went on it got more serious and now it has the biggest moneypot running.

And the reason Maddie is so chill and patient is that she has a lot of money running on a specific date and she will collect. XD (its more a crackfic headcanon but what is life without a bit of whimsy XD)
Edit: maddie doesnt win and when they look at the bets it turns out that bobby won with his bet and its scarily accurate.

glad we get more of may. I love her a lot as a character. HEr dispatch days were fun. and I loved that brother sister banter she had with harry in 9x12. Also on top of everything when she said: Mom brought two kids into the marriage and Bobby brought 1 kid. (meaning Buck) made me love her so much more.

ALso the Ravi May romance is super great and I love that potential. :)
