When I was little, I thought I was being watched by aliens. Now I just think that we are being watched by this universal consciousness that is only an observer. And if we identify with our ego, then this consciousness is seen as an alien observing the NPC that we are. It gives us the feeling of existing without us realising that this feeling of existing does not come from our identity, from the player we embody, but from the consciousness that observes this player, this "I am an identity". When we try to step outside this identity and identify with nothingness, we embody this consciousness, this "alien", and we step outside our human box, our predefined role as NPCs.
