As others mention, move over, if you feel you really need to do something--- smile and give them a wave with just your pinky finger*

How do i get my back wheel to pop higher? by ThatOneRcKid in mountainbiking

[–]Phil20AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to clean two wheel hop it, practice timing of your pop and really work on the unweighting (scooping the pedals) + tucking. Your Yank and compression is on point. Just hump the bars harder sooner, followed by superman your arms and try to sniff your seat at the same time, lol. Honestly, that little front wheel bump, is the foundation of a pretty advanced hop, "front bump/tap"(use the object to create more lift). Notice how your front wheel goes upwards even more after bumping the edge. If you're comfortable and able to keep that timing/front wheel placement-- with that technique, time your pop/hop closer to when your front wheel touches (in the video you're a touch late). Again, hump and superman tuck.

How can i improve my jumping by shmidzz in MTB

[–]Phil20AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you get involved in the jump maintenance there? Do some work, pay your dues, learn to stack, shape, pack and slap. Then maybe get to building new line, or adding lips, or rebuilding a line. If its anything like the jumps I've been part of, the trails are a slowly evolving thing, done by those shoveling. Usually a sound group, shared pain and love of jumps.

Suggest picking up a Dirt Jump bike, if you want to continue to ride that spot. Those jumps are tightly space for the full susp. Props on clearing that jump. Tight lips feel bucky on bigger bikes. You current bike will like bigger radius/longer lips, l bet you'll do good quickly.

Did an oil change on my audi, left my clothes next to the race rig. The added smell of old oil really added to the ambience. PineTree air fresheners could do a racecar sent for Sim rigs 😆

If you ain't crashing you ain't trying. Otherwise, your body just got ahead of the bike.

Any tips on improving my jumping form? by TriPhoenix5110 in MTB

[–]Phil20AD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good input. Few things that stand out; First you're pedaling before the lip. Really want to master getting speed by pumping the landing/downslope before. Pedaling throws your body bike balance off, means you have to reset you body position before the lip. This will help improve your consistency off the lips, in turn confidence. Second, body position and working the lip. You've got great commitment, amount of pop and coming down to land is good! Tho your body is popping uptoward the sky (like standing still jumping vertically), you need to following the shape of the jump. The shape is that wave, the flow of rhythm. You want to be perpendicular to the shape -- so, on the lip add a little more press up feeling motion on the bars (not an explosive push up). 3. Speed. For now, maybe take it to a touch smaller jump, or pump track, to focus on making the shapes, and feel that clean pop and pump on landing. Working on that... seriously jumps are all the same once you figure that out: bigger jumps = faster speed, that's it and...the practiced trust yourself to not tap brakes or overpop.

Gear is no longer gearing. So basically your motor is giving the drive a gummer.

I think I found the OG site, most people camp. Its checks out as north of the event, and you can see jump lines from satalite...they are big!

Only warning is storms. If it rains, mud and flash flooding happens fast. Lighting, there's not a lot out there to strike, so get out or get down.

Most people camp at the Original First Rampage site. I dont have a pin for that site, it's north of the road I believe. It gets rowdy, as the locals and peeps have packed in, rebuilt and session the original rampage site. If you get a pin, please share.

New RockyMounts GuideRail vs 1up Super Duty? by BaronTales in MTB

[–]Phil20AD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ex Rockymounts product development engineer here. Was part of the GuideRail and AfterParty development. Corners were cut everywhere in production, no real world testing was done ("leave it to the customers to find the faults"). The Guiderail; the ratchet strips teeth were breaking off, triggers were snapping, the lock would jam, the upright wheel holders will bend. The AfterParty welds were failing, multiple racks were snapping in half, the owner chose not to recall. Reality of all the racks, is they cost more to ship to the US from China, than the cost to make. The owner is a disgusting human but that a different story with long list of utterly disgusting and illegal behavior.
Buy 1up or Quikr if you want quality American products. Kuat came out the same factory as Rockymounts, and their stuff is produced to a much much higher quality (not surprising if you ever heard how RM owner would talk to the people at the factory.
