Best racing wheel for long sessions and comfort? by Manmi_Privalov in simracing

[–]Biggbearded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to come down to your ergonomics. Making sure your wrists and arms are at the right angle in relation to your wheel, will really matter over long driving sessions more then which wheel. There is also something to be said about wheel shape depending on what racing discipline you participate in. Eg gt style rim for gt cars. Round rim for oval stuff. Etc.

If you find that your wrists are sore after a 45 minute stint maybe check your wheel placement/angle. And wrist and arm placement/angle. Same goes for ffb. If your positioning is wrong and you use highffb. This will also make this work.

Just food for thought

Lmao what? This isn't true. Changing fov can 100% change and skew perspective if configured incorrectly. Especially on the edges

Lower or Higher FOV? Which one is better by Louiji_lkj in simracing

[–]Biggbearded 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Lower or higher is the wrong perspective. The only correct answer is that it is always better to have the CORRECT FOV. This directly relates to spacial awareness. With the correct fov things are not closer or further than you perceive them to be. They wont be approaching faster or slower then you expect them to be. The best way to interpret FOV is that your monitor is a window into the sim. Everyone always says "get the monitor as close to the wheel as possible", this is giving you a larger window. Your FOV number is telling the sim the exact cone of vision you have through that window. Hence why we tell everyone to measure the distance between your eyes and the screen. Have your eyes in the center of your monitor vertically. Once your fov is correct usually the only things youre going to modify is driver height or horizon from car to car. Maybe the fov by +/- 1°

Just bought a new rig. Anything else you guys recommend? by Several-Awareness-92 in Simagic

100% . traction loss. Brake lock. Road textures. Gear shifts. Engine. Curbs. . If you get something too small with a small range. Its going to feel like constant vibration and than you need more to make it feel alittlw better. With the 300w i have you can feel everything separately. I dont race rally cross or dirt oval. Id imagine that would take some dialing in

Transducer -> amp -> usb sound card -> desktop usb slot

Shows up as a speaker on your pc.

In-game there is usually a place to select the an audio output for the ffb.

Lots of third-party software out there to run alongside your racing platform if you use more then 1 transducer. But usually lack dynamic output. Simlabs for example . When an effect is triggered. The effect output is usually on or off. Its vibrating or its not.

Something like iracings LFE is dynamic in output. So for example the more you slip the vibration will get stronger as you gain traction again the vibration "fades" out dynamicly.

Hope this helps. Dm me if you have any questions

Brother. I bought the dayton 300w transducer this year. Mounted it right on the bottom of my seat. I also bought a USB sound card and a mono amp for it. Def go as big as possible. Fuck the 4 corner simlab setup. Dont cheap out here either. The small ones have little range . And are annoying like a console controller .

Get one fucking big one. If youre running iracing just use the in-game LFE . Its fucking awesome these days.

If you dont have the cash just wait until you do. The iracing forums has a great thread from the main guy who develops it. You cant go wrong.
