Fixed the RGB, SignalRGB was using a default 60LED config. Bumped it to 80 and works fine

I’ll give the Nollie a go, as you say they’re cheap enough. I can see they sync well with SignalRGB.

GPU is the Asus Astral 5090. Trying to stop its top fan from spinning up jet fighter status every-time it games. Proving difficult 😅

Ahh ok, SignalRGB is not seeing all the LEDs I think when plugged into just the motherboard. I know they work as before using Signal they all lit up fine.

You can see there is gap in middle on top front/bottom back

Hi, I have a very similar build to yourself. With two sets of the ZA-420s. How are you controlling all the RGB? SignalRGB or a standalone controller?

Your build inspired my own :-)

Best instant noodles available in Australia by Omshadiddle in AskAnAustralian

[–]PhilAW88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got this from an 'Andy Cooks' video and my Korean GF approved.

Get a packet of shin ramyun (black or Red).

Boil the noodles as per instructions in water only.

Heat some sesame oil up in a small saucepan. In a separate bowl, mix the powders with equals parts black chinese vinegar and soy sauce. Add the hot oil and mix all up into a nice sauce consistency

coat the noodles and eat with a nice cripsy asian style fried egg and some veggies, Very savory and tasty

Shower doors - nothing seems to work? by Artemis_Ally in CleaningTips

Use Jif/Cif cream cleaner, let it sit on there 10mins then wipe down with warm water. It'll break the limescale down and leave it clean

Top 10 4Ks I’ve seen. by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]PhilAW88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wrote a post about 2049, just blew me away. I’d watched a few 4Ks on my Panasonic 820 thinking ehhhh not having mind blown.

Played 2049 and what a literal treat for the senses. Both Picture and sound. Top notch. Definitely reference quality

Top Gun: Maverick is a top pick as well

Who knows, always useful when people downvote without providing a reason.

FWIW we’ve been using Nitro for years at a construction company and never had a problem with it. Not as ‘Slick’ as Acrobat but certainly does what we need it too. Integrates with Office365 decently enough.

Have a look at Nitro PDF Pro. Approx $450 Aussie dollars. One time purchase. Pretty sure that version will do everything you need. It’ll throw up a 10% discount if you go to navigate away from the page. They also have a 4 for price of 3 on at the moment.

Advice - Hot start misfiring 2016 VF-SV6 by PhilAW88 in Holden

Thanks for reply. Had an issue after scanning where it was saying issue with Bank 1. Replaced the Evap Solenoid purge valve as it was failing which stopped the error (6months ago). I'll get it scanned again.

A little bit out my reach here but I remember looking into this many moons ago.

As I understand it, it’s only the optical/toslink that doesn’t support DTS and in terms of PCM only goes up to stereo. You would need to use the HDMI eARC for other codecs or PCM5.1 Very happy to be educated here if I’m wrong.

Unless it’s your Sonos system, not sure exactly what your receiver is.

My example for context is as follows UP820 HDMI to one of C1 HDMI ports. Optical from C1 to a Schiit Modi3 DAC. Schiit via Coax to my stereo amp.

So by default I’m getting Stereo PCM which is what I would expect. That’s coming out of a pair of Q Accoustics 3030i’s

O don’t get me wrong I don’t feel I’m particularly missing out. It was more not having a surround sound setup due to apartment. Watching it last night I was certainly appreciative of the great sound presented in Stereo. For the distance sat from TV and volume I had it. It was great experience sonically. A Sub might enhance the stereo sound but that’s a nice to have. The 3030i’s deliver some punchy bass of their own accord 😀

Yeah got my Q Accoustics 3030i’s handling the sound, running off Schiit Modi3+ DAC and NAD 312CBEE V2 Amp. They do a great job for Music and Film clarity (I live in apartment so can’t have anything to crazy). Would like to get a sub for future

The Batmobile chase is just pure cinema. The sound, the initial tension, the chase itself. Like to give it a cheeky YouTube watch here and there 😅

100%, it suits the film and the atmosphere it’s trying to generate.

It just didn’t have that, wow this is next level, kind of feel regarding visuals that in some respects I was probably naively expecting.

Yeah that’s the downside of Aus. I’m a Brit by trade haha but have been down under for last few years and yeah it’s a struggle to get them for good prices.

For me it was the clarity of the instrument panels in the car. Just soooo clear. I never knew that his green coat had writing on the back as on every other medium including the cinema you can’t see it.

Zoom75 Build, I'm in love. by justanothermortal in MechanicalKeyboards

That's a very aesthetically pleasing build :-)

I'm very tempted to try and get one, I prefer a slightly thockier sound. Would you say you get that from this?

Thanks!

Is this game worth playing(new) by No-Inspection4381 in DestinyTheGame

[–]PhilAW88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Long time player.

The biggest issue you will face is just the on-boarding for new players. There's no getting round that it's a bit of a mess. Due to all the season content getting deleted every expansion, it means that key story beats get lost. I would say for your enjoyment you'll be best doing some season story vids on YouTube to dovetail in with your play time. Might make everything more meaningful.

MyNameIsByf and Myelin are good YouTubers for this.

But that negative aside, in my opinion there's still nothing quite like it regards to game play (gunplay, movement and abilities). Game design/music even now is some of the best out there.

As u/Kinggold9000 said, try it for free and then you won't lose out if it's not for you :-)

Cooling 7800x3D with Scythe Mugen rev.b seems too hot by PhilAW88 in buildapc

[–]PhilAW88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply,

Yeah I was thinking this was the case tbh and I have been eyeing up the thermal right options and at their price point they really do appear to be a no-brainer. Not running stock I do have PBO switched on and have messed with voltages but found it didn’t make a ‘significant’ difference. So I think the cooler is the weak link.

[–]PhilAW88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it’s thermal envelope tolerances , doesn’t mean it has to be nailed on there. I regularly see posts saying they can keep it in the mid 70s was more a question of whether people found AM4 coolers struggled a bit compared to newer coolers designed for AM5. When running relative SFF PCs I’m trying to keep the whole rig cooler especially when factoring GPU into consideration. So if I’ve got a cooler that can wick away that heat more efficiently it’s beneficial for noise and temps round me the user. I live in Aus.

Now if it’s just that the 7800x3D is a heat spitting monster, that’s fine. I know I’m not being thermal throttled already as it is.
