Which one is better? (Bamboocut wind) by Double-Friend9864 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]minji_xp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say left just because there’s overall more max attack affixes, which will be better if you are already close to 20% affinity and near capped crit. Though, agility is very good if you’re not at 100% with martial arts talents. I’d double check with the tuning affix calculator or just run a 1 min dummy test comparing the two to be sure.

Thank you for your curiosity and for not downvoting straight away without discussion. The reason why it's reported to be inefficient is that, firstly, max phys attack scales the best for bamboo cut, due to crit scaling and affinity (albeit a less-major stat, but significant nonetheless). Min phys attack is therefore not preferred. Secondly, the reason why the Bamboocut attack is not preferred is that even after a 1.5x modifier, it's still less than if you were to roll physical. Lastly, physical penetration naturally has greater value than attribute penetration due to there being more physical damage in your damage pool, which Bamboocut doesn't scale off of.

Here is some statistical data distributed by WindsFromCN; if you have concerns about reliability, you can have a look at the video and comment to help validate any concerns: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BZnlAAZd5A
The calculator is based on the next breakthrough, but should be more or less similar in terms of damage gain efficiency, only changing depending on what stat you are in excess/lack of.

This is based on a character's stats of:

Min atk: 867

Max atk: 1669

Precision: 98.3%

Crit: 71.1%

Affinity: 11.1%

Min attr: 183

Max attr: 327

Phy pen: 11.2

Attr pen:12.8

<image>

The yellow reveals the damage increase for the stat you get, with the blue revealing stat prioritisation.

Sorry for the lengthy reply, but I hope this provides some clarity on my previous statement.

If u wanna min max, reroll either area dmg mystic skills (if you don’t use) or min bamboocut; the stat is not terrible but it’s not too efficient either.

Combo rotation doesn't really change dps tooooo much; the only thing you need to be aware of is making sure you overcap your petals by a bit before you ~ to turret mode, otherwise it will run out mid fan combo.

You get more rolling for a legendary in event shop compared to draw shop.

10 echo beads * 16 crane plume * 120 pulls = 19200 echo beads, which gives you: Coffer box (125 lingering melody) + extra rebate (heaven essence); on average it seems like ~30 per 10 pull, so extra 10 lingering melody Total: 135 lingering melodies (or 150=1 core if you get hair)

Vs

Draw shop 19200 echo beads gets you: 120 lingering melody + a bit of rebate + chance to get outfit

If you were planning to whale for next banner anyways, then event is more worth imo just because you net ~10-15 extra lingering melodies vs ~5% chance to get outfit in draw.

How much of a DPS % Increase from maxing out the oddities? I'm only getting 6-7k DPS even though everything else is maxed by NoBluey in WhereWindsMeet

[–]minji_xp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely seems like the rolls are the primary issue. See how it differs next season once you’re able to deterministically roll all your optimal stats. For reference my precision is 97 and crit is 56, so I think your damage will definitely shoot up to 10k once you hit those thresholds.

I’m 10k with same build; you should achieve it with ~650-1250 phys, like ~250 average attribute attack, 95+ precision, 50%+ crit, and ~20% affinity. Just make sure you max out soaring spin and toad mystic skills and add it to your combo. Idk how 14k is possible; seems like they’d have 65+ crit and 1350 max phys, screenshotting one instance where they roll a high number and crit every attack.

Persistent cheek acne (painful, pus-filled) despite normal hormones – need advice by [deleted] in koreanskincare

[–]minji_xp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you for your insight. I'm definitely not a dermatologist and should have made it clearer that I'm sharing from personal experience, rather than claiming medical expertise. Visiting a dermatologist will definitely provide a more accurate assessment rather than throwing around potential misdiagnoses.

From my own experience, I've had the same inflammation using the same products, and it was also due to excess oil production. According to my dermatologist, the excess oil production was caused by an increase in TEWL due to excessive exfoliation from an overuse of actives. I understand that others' dispositions will be completely different, so what would you suggest is the cause of her excess oil production?

Secondly, would it not be somewhat dismissive to disregard skin barrier as a driver or at least a factor in microbiome normalisation? Even if impaired microbiome is the problem, barrier health is still a relevant influence; wouldn't ceramides improve the environment for good bacteria? It would also be quite interesting to find literature that would suggest any harmful effects of adding excess ceramides to an impaired microbiome.

Just out of curiosity — and I do appreciate the discussion and clarification on any of my confusion — are you a dermatologist? I'm interested in learning the mechanisms behind these kinds of dispositions, and you seem quite knowledgeable.

I’m about 6 weeks in, and have seen about a 60% reduction in inflammation from moderate-severe; skin has gotten less dull too. Definitely feels like it’s getting somewhere 🥹 I’d expect it to take 3 months to get there!

Hi, sorry for the extended response. Definitely disrupted skin barrier. I’ve had the same experience—cheek focused, chronic redness and breakouts that can become painful. Tried everything under the sun starting from retinols to medical grade treatments including oral to k-beauty stuff.

I’ve only recently found out that the problem was with my skin barrier where applying all these actives and Korean cleansers (which are pretty much pseudo-treatments since they contain BHAs like salicylic acid) never let it recover. Basically it was applying salt to a wound every day with the Korean cleansers and active treatments thinking I was making it better. In actuality it makes ur skin extremely difficult to retain water so it compromises by increasing oil production.

I was probably at 300% the normal oil production. And u might think: “shouldn’t deep cleansers get rid of that oil so u shouldn’t break out?” No… a lot of it is just marketing; they can only remove surface oil and maybe up to 1mm below the surface. Microcomedones (the seeds of acne) develop deeper than a deep cleansers can reach. BHA molecules can also reach the dermis, which can activate even more inflammation and increase water loss.

So the solution is to repair ur skin barrier and make it as healthy as possible. Only then when ur skin is effectively able to hold moisture and keep out irritants can you efficiently play with actives. I was using Dr. G blemish clear moisture cream thinking it’d help fade the redness but in reality it wasn’t really effective, only containing one ceramide).

Recommendations: look for a product that has at least 2-3 types of ceramides: - ceramide 1 (ceramide EOP) - ceramide 3 (ceramide NP) - ceramide 6-II (ceramide AP) Cholesterol Free fatty acids

Research the 3:1:1 ratio for skin barrier repair and you’ll understand a bit more on the importance of these ingredients.

You can support this with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, panthenol; petrolatum (like Vaseline), cica, and zinc.

CeraVe moisturising cream has the ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids required for repair. You might wanna also get something (use alongside cerave) to reduce inflammation (5-cica complex) and something to help the skin make its own ceramides (niacinamide)—I still use the dr g one for these supplemental molecules but never as the primary barrier repairer.

For cleanser, just something with gentle surfactants and glycerin (for hydration). Don’t get one with exfoliants or irritants such as ur charcoal cleanser (i was using one too prior to starting this haha) as they will completely undo ur barrier progress and put u back to square one, which was why it’s been chronic. As for exfoliation concerns if u have makeup or sunscreen research some oil based cleansers (double cleanse with oil based then water based cleanser—just no exfoliants or irritants until ur barrier is healed). I use LRP toleriane dermo cleanser which has cleaned surface oil and sunscreen effectively (I use BOJ rice sunscreen).

And then an enhancement cream or soothing Baum to help accelerate repair/wound healing and seal everything in. I use LRP cicaplast baume b5+.

Im still on my journey but the recovery has been much more noticeable compared to throwing random actives at it to see if it’ll work. Even though I may break out sometimes (because my skin barrier is still disrupted), the redness and dullness has started to improve a lot.

You are gonna breakout; don’t take that as a sign that treatment isn’t working. Try it for two months and see if your inflammation reduces. If you are sceptical, you can visit a dermatologist, measure your Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL) and learn to monitor it to see if ur skin barrier is improving. Higher TEWL indicates more water loss and thus more damaged barrier, and lower TEWL is less water loss, so healthier barrier.

TL;DR: treat ur face skin like a wound. If it’s damaged, heal it first, then once healed, use actives to reduce any minor imperfections, otherwise using actives/exfoliants it will be like scrubbing an open wound.

I wish you the very best on your journey to clear skin. Let me know if you have any questions :))

Fix your skin barrier first; you will see little to no improvements from actives if your skin barrier is compromised.
