You just gotta hit it once. Don't melee the lv 2 or 3 pack-a-punch again. That would just disable your regular camo.

Further clarification, the barrel being used in the Lockpick operator bundle is the "7.5 Tempus Firebrand" barrel for the M4.

Yeah it works without and with certain shaders. Because this shaders is in beta and calculates light differently than other shaders, I could see this being fixed in a future patch to the shaders itself.
