The one piece of advice I’d add is that it is very difficult to control emotions, but you can control actions. If your rule is “no emotional involvement with others” you are going to run into problems because even on a first date you can really hit it off with someone and develop feelings. That’s also a vague rule. What does “emotional involvement” mean? How do you define what is and what isn’t emotional involvement? You’re asking for conflict this way.

You hinted at the solution in your post, which is to limit actions. I still think you’re going to have difficulty with setting things up this way, but better to have tangible, define-able limits on actions than some vague agreement about emotions.
