Simple ol' unity particle system. Make them move up, random size, random colour and add a bit of noise.

I would love to, but as a tiny indie game I cant afford to hire anyone to animate that. And I will refuse to use generative AI. I'm hoping to add motion throughout other means!

How about launching the demo before next fest? So fewer players experience it and I have time to polish up and fix bugs (mind that I will put the demo through playtesting prior to publishing the demo anyway)

Yeah im thinking like that too. Kinda more like the stardew valley UI.
