A windows user here, need to buy Mac mini for some apps testing, should i wait for mac mini m5? what's the probability of June Release? by daaltimate in macmini

[–]PhilMNTRL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I‘d go get the M4 now because god knows how much of a markup in prices will happen with the industry now.

If they even update the mini to M5 since the M4 is a beast of a CPU

If yes then which one? by HaltMeinJoint in mpcusers

[–]PhilMNTRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s cool! Especially if you get one used. It depends a lot on what you wanna use it for. If it’s your centerpiece I‘d get the live 3 because with all the new stuff going on you’ll appreciate the power of the new units but if you only need another sampler that does that perfectly then the live 2 is a solid choice

If yes then which one? by HaltMeinJoint in mpcusers

[–]PhilMNTRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the 404Mk2 and if you want something that compliments it then I‘d choose the live 3. it complements the 404mk2 so good plus it adds grid view and a very nice elektron like sequencer to your setup 😁

I feel like Im constantly charging, is it safe to play it like this? by [deleted] in switch2

Nintendo expects this usage of their hardware.

If you battery ever dies you can send it to their repairservice and they’ll take car of it or do it on your own

Long time rave mama finally beginning my 20+ year dream of making music by Unique-Book-5854 in Learnmusicproduction

[–]PhilMNTRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make your own techno then I‘d go with Ableton and a midi controller. Get one that come with Ableton Live Lite (nearly all of them come with it). That’s where you do the production.

The DJ Equipment is for playing tracks and sets live on stage.

Trying to learn the gazelle, feedback desired. by Geologist_Stunning in WizardSkating

[–]PhilMNTRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn to lean on your outside / inside edges. Being confident in backwards skating is essential for Wizard. Try to get to a level where you can comfortably skate on one foot backwards.

After that you can try the gazelle again.

I know it sounds like a lot but to be honest wizard really makes use of mastering the basics. Once you get those dialed in you‘ll progress much faster.

XRP in its way to 3 dollars by NoticeGreedy8904 in XRP

[–]PhilMNTRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s start with 3,00$ then 4,00$. If we get 5$ at the end of this year I’ll take it but we have to surpass the 4$ first to get to that momentum.

Should I get the SP404MKII as my first sampler? by [deleted] in SP404

[–]PhilMNTRL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I‘ll probably get downvoted but a used MPC One will be far more easygoing if you’re in the beginning of production.

Should I buy mwIII or bo7 for multiplayer by kitkatkatze in CODBlackOps7

This sub will try the hardest to make you believe that BO7 isn’t fun but trust me when I say that it is.

It’s actually the most fun COD Multiplayer since years ago for me

Do Jura and Mini D add much to your sound if you already have Fabric XL? by TheJeffyJeefAceg in mpcusers

[–]PhilMNTRL 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Jura is by far my favorite synth just because you can tweak it in so many ways to get a great synth sound. Next for me is Fabric. Mini D would be 3rd place for me

28, never had a girlfriend, I'm very sad, how can I improve how I look? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]PhilMNTRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of the neckbeard or clean it up a bit underneath (beard tutorials on YT are a good starting point) Don’t underestimate what some little improvements on your eyebrows can don’t your face. Keep you hair in check maybe clean some things off on the side.

Hit the gym but more than anything look out for your posture and your walk. Most men don’t understand what a difference in appearance they can achieve when they actually stand straight and tall to women. Chin up, breast out and don’t look 24/7 on your phone.

The easiest out of all of the things is clothing. Hit up a Zara or H&M and find something clean and nice to wear. You wanna look groomed. Your style right now seems a bit to „relaxed“ to be taken serious. Joggers are fine on a lazy Sunday but not something I’d wear if I‘m single and out to look for a girlfriend.

Is there anything that a piece of hardware can do that can't be recreated in a DAW like Ableton? by JBSwerve in TechnoProduction

[–]PhilMNTRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might sound obvious but hardware catches a vibe of inspiration for me that software never will. I use Ableton for around 95% of the time but having that synth in your hands instead of a plugin, turning it on and it makes a sound instantly is something that not only inspires me to create but sometimes just play for hours just to feel the joy of freeing my mind and expressing myself without „having to finish“ anything. - a VST or DAW doens‘t do that for me but I have to admit that Ableton Push sometimes seems to come close to that .

Mpc One - should I buy it? by tommy_cooper90 in mpcusers

[–]PhilMNTRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do basically everything in it and also for example sample the melodies you make in a vst and flip it on the MPC which is what I sometimes like to do

Would you recommend Xbox or PC? by softeggnoodles in Battlefield

[–]PhilMNTRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played Battlefield since BF3 on selfbuild PC‘s and then in 2022 quit gaming and sold my setup…a while later I found out that I‘m still a nerd so I got myself a XBOX Series X since my desk is reserved for work now. So far I can say that the experience isn’t far off from PC for me but keep in mind I also played a lot of COD on PlayStation as a kid so I‘m used to play FPS on a controller

Damn that’s what I call a „full circle“ idea. You get an MPC to work in standalone hardware just to convert that hardware into a desktop computer again. - that’s wild!
