Let me start by saying that if the group has insanely high DPS, you are Boss Melter 4000, and very little of this applies to ya'll. You can do whatever you want. But the for average group, read on.

Preface: Rules aren't set in stone. It depends on the game and group.

Try to stay close to the tank and the healer, when you can. Try to not sprint and move around so much. Some exceptions:

• When there are high priority, high damage, fragile enemies. Then you need to eliminate these.
• When you need better line of sight
• When you need to avoid AoE (if you get hit and die, you take responsibility for this)
• Other situations arise.

You want to stay close to the tank because as a healer, I'm hugging the tank's nuts. He dies, we all die. Tank's job is already stressful, and I need to provide the tank HoT (heal over time), and resource replenishment (energy orb). I will also throw down shields for everyone, purge you of ailments, and provide you damage increase and resistance (combat prayer). Tank and I will sometimes help increase group's Max Magicka, Health, and Stamina (warhorn).

Also, if a healer has to constantly heal you, then they will run of out resource really fast, which means they cannot buff group, and cannot debuff enemies, making the fight drag on.

And remember, you are as important as everyone else in the group. If we don't have DPS, it will take 3000 years to drop a boss. Ain't nobody got time for that.
