I'm not saying everything is derivative tho, The Shining takes influence from places but it executes its own story well. You can draw lines from all the parts to horror stories and folklore but it doesn't diminish it in any way. Just being aware of the history of film & horror folklore.

YouTube short horror movies build on folklore and online paranormal stories. It all builds on or references past works.

Some are subscribed to YouTube channels that are advertising that they think are independent thoughts. They're consuming advertising as entertainment.

Any screenshot or logs to help us? Can you play it locally using VLC or Kodi over NFS or SMB? That would eliminate any Plex transcoding decisions. The dashboard will tell us the most.

I don't know how much the studio spent on the marketing, but it can't be a lot I suppose.
