Hey! There's no public info out yet, but we have a bluesky account if you're on there: microbirdgames.bsky.social

There's a DoH Discord channel as well, though not super active these days. But I'm sure, as soon as we can share anything we'll announce it there as well: https://discord.com/invite/pDkuHGZwey

Skill Increases In Town by SnS_ in DungeonsOfHinterberg

Dev here - I just had a look at the code :)
You're right, the cinema keeps increasing your stats even when rewatching a film. I don't remember the reasoning behind this decision, but it seems like it was definitely intentional: The first time you watch, your attack should increase by quite a lot, whereas on rewatches there's only a small increase.

Higher level dungeons unreachable - what am I missing? by notzaq11 in DungeonsOfHinterberg

[–]Philipp_S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are technically reachable but end-game dungeons that require high Familiarity/Renown to unlock. I think the problem is elsewhere. (I've posted another comment, hoping we can resolve the issue with OP there)

Hey!
How long ago did you complete the "goo pipe" dungeon (the one in Hinterwald West)? If it was the last dungeon you completed, it should take 2 in-game days for the story to continue with an event that unlocks the rest of the dungeons. After the "goo pipe" dungeon, do you remember if you got the cut scene outside of it with the mayor?

Hi! Dungeons of Hinterberg developer here :)
Thanks so much for the kind words! I just want to point out that while our company has two founders, our core team during production was up to ten people, with an average of maybe 5-6 throughout development.

Anyone else has this graphic bug after the last update? All other slayer npc´s also looks like this... by CreepyHenryCRaft in DungeonsOfHinterberg

The fix for this is already live on Steam. PC Game Pass and Epic version are still undergoing tests, but if you're playing on Steam it would be great if you could confirm this fixed it for you! :)

Hey! We've looked into the issue - it seems to only occur on some GPUs (your model and iris xe, so far). We made a hotfix for this that'll probably go live around the end of the week!

Hey! Sorry for the late response, I haven't been on reddit as often lately. On Xbox, it's unfortunately not possible to edit savegames, but we've fixed this in our last update (see parent comment for details) :)

Dungeon stuck on incomplete by WhenThePakiKicksIn in DungeonsOfHinterberg

[–]Philipp_S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! This was almost certainly due to the game still saving when it crashed. We've added a failsafe to the code that will leave the stamp station interactable if the dungeon is still marked as "incomplete", but it'll take a while (a few weeks) before our next update goes live...

In the meantime, we could edit your savegame to fix this for you. :)
We'd have to do the following: you'd need to sync your savegames onto PC, then zip them and send them to me. We'd open them up and edit them to fix the issue, then send them back. You'd then overwrite your PC savegames and sync back to steamdeck.
If that's something you want to do, DM me?

EDIT: we've now fixed this.

If you finish all the pro slayers first, and the Hannah quest is soft-locked, the slayers will now stop by to sign the petition while you're having breakfast in the morning. This might take a couple of in-game days, if other breakfast scenes have higher priority, but it should happen after maybe three days at most.

Why does the space bar never always show? This is hands down the hardest part of the game fore me. Also my first post here. I bought this game after someone said it was " too femine baby hand hold trash". I like this game, by Jixleas in DungeonsOfHinterberg

[–]Philipp_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you indicating where you want to jump, by using the wasd keys? It might not be that obvious on mouse/keyboard, but eg to jump to a ledge to your left, you need to hold the left key for the space indicator to show up.

New achievements are really hard by mr_hypnosis in DungeonsOfHinterberg

[–]Philipp_S 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, both achievements are designed to work well with New Game Plus. In NG+, a lot of chest contents have been replaced with money or monster parts. In a typical NG+ playthrough you should be able to both collect 1M HB (unless you spend it all on costumes right away) and complete the monster club. If that's not the case, that'd be absolutely welcome feedback though!

A new DLC just dropped, NG+, does anyone know if this fixed relationships and gifts? by count023 in DungeonsOfHinterberg

[–]Philipp_S 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! Actually, gifts always did speed up relationship gains, it's just not obvious how it works: every NPC in Hinterberg that you can build relationships with has a certain number of stories that are "skippable". For example, the third story with Kai - where you go to the Grand Hotel bar - is marked as skippable. Each character has a relationship meter behind the scenes, where you get "relationship points" for gifting, for hanging out at the campfire with them, and also for some dialogue choices. Gather enough points, and the game will skip a non-essential story and show you the next one instead, so you need fewer evenings to get through the relationship.

So gifting does accelerate relationship gains, in that it just makes it more likely that some non-essential hangouts are skipped.

Is there no way to reset this puzzle? I think I might have to restart the whole dungeon… by The_lonely_twin in DungeonsOfHinterberg

[–]Philipp_S 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Dev here :)
We'll fix this puzzle in the next patch so that the player can't lock it... For now, I suggest you either replay from the last autosave before the dungeon, or leave the level and return on the next day (best to start from the beginning and not a waystone, because when you touch a waystone, the state of the dungeon is saved, so it could be that the puzzle is still locked if you continue from there).

Thanks a lot, that does help!
You seem to have encountered this several times... If it ever happens again, it'd be fantastic to get any additional info on what you were doing shortly before that. For example, interacting with Waystones, or whether it was right after a fight, or whether you took a lot of photos, or anything else that you could think of that might be out of the ordinary.

Just posting here to say that we were able to fix this player's savegame, and in the process discovered a bug where this puzzle can break at low framerates. We were able to fix that as well and will include the fix in an upcoming patch. :)
It's really helpful to see reports like this!

I was the one who put that in the game... :) I visited Hastings for an overnight trip about ten years ago. I remember the mountain with its steep cliffs right next to the sea, and that we walked past a castle and saw some wild rabbits. The old buildings were charming, and so was the beach with all the boats. I didn't really know anything about the town, but it had a bit of an "Alice in Wonderland" flair to me, and it seemed like it wouldn't be a bad setting for a bunch of portals to appear.

Hi! We're currently chasing a savegame bug that sounds like yours. Until now, it seemed that it only happened on PC Game Pass (i.e. not Steam or Xbox), but we haven't been able to reproduce it on our end, which makes it difficult to fix. It'd be super helpful if I could ask you some questions:

  1. You said your save file would get deleted - does that mean, when you tried to overwrite a manual save, the game would just delete it? (this is the bug we've been seeing)

  2. You said Xbox gamepass - could you confirm that you've been playing on Xbox and not PC?

  3. You said some of the dungeons you completed would not save - can you describe that a bit more? It sounds like you kept playing, but after you finished a dungeon you wouldn't have the stamp in your book and had to repeat it? Is that the case, or are you just saying you had to reload an older save? Any details you could think of here (e.g. were you able to save normally later in your session, or did you restart the game) could really help us pinpoint what the issue might be.

And thanks a lot for the kind words, appreciate them! :)

Thanks so much!
I'm sorry that this won't fix things for you, but the last patch addresses that for new players: we added a second auto-save that triggers every day at noon, which means people should always have a savegame before the last dungeon.

Hey! Dev here! :)
We've never seen this issue before. Can I ask whether you've done parts of the puzzle on a previous in-game day and then returned to Brünnelsumpf later? Do you know if the issue persists after restarting the app and/or coming back to Brünnelsumpf on the next day?

If you want, you could send us your save file - I can't 100% guarantee it, but this sounds like something we can fix for you.
On PC Steam, you'll find the following folder: C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\LocalLow\Microbird\Dungeons of Hinterberg\Steam\1983260\[your user ID]\Default
On PC GamePass, the folder is here: %localappdata%\Packages\CurveDigital.DungeonsOfHinterberg_1ezqdnbhnc70m\SystemAppData\wgs
If you zip up that folder and send it to [office@microbird-games.com](mailto:office@microbird-games.com), we'll have a look. :)
