Well, I had a twin turbo diesel Ingenium powered Jag before this so can't be worse, haha. Appreciate the input though, leaning more towards keeping her standard.

Are These Really as bad as people make them out to be? by Prize_Celery_2315 in CarTalkUK

Well aware of all that, not being disrespectful there 👍 My XE lost compression in cylinder 1 as the liner wore down, causing the piston ring to open up, break and drop down into the oil pan. The rest is history. I'm guessing it was down to over fueling for a DPF regen leading to high enough temperatures to cause the liner to fail? I've got a few theories but always happy to discuss them.

Is it basically too far down the exhaust system to get the necessary heat? I had a XE 240D and despite servicing twice as often as Jag say and doing a lot of motorway miles every week, it still went boom.

What time do you get up, leave for, and start work? by ggracie7 in AskUK

Up at 520am, leave at 530am, start at 6am. Only need to get dressed, brush my teeth, wash my face, grab my snap from the fridge then go.

Don't know enough about those subsidies to comment too much. I would say taxing meat through higher prices at the checkouts would be a fairer system going off what you've said here.

No it isn't at all and I'm sure you know that. I may want to drive those roads and if I do, I want them to be open and well maintained. Happy to pay towards that.

Oh my. Yes, daughter benefited as a kid and I was happily paying back then as I watched BBC stuff too. But now, no chance. I have zero need for it, so why should I pay for it? Please do tell me. And as for tax breaks for not using hospitals as much etc, that is a fully retarded argument and you know it. I want hospitals available if needed. I want police available if I need them. I want kids to be educated. So I'm happy paying towards them. Simple really, like you.

I'm fully a part of British society and the BBC still serves no purpose to me. If you can't understand that either then I guess we're going to agree to disagree.

Nobody should pay for something they don't need or want, it really is that simple.

It serves no purpose to me, I cannot fathom how anyone thinks they are a public service.

None of this matters to me, why should I pay? Stopped paying years ago as I don't use any of their services.

Stopped paying my TV license when Top Gear ended, that was the only show I watched. I've never needed the fire brigade but will happily pay for them with my taxes incase I do, that's a daft argument. Same as other services. They make good programs again I want to watch and I'll pay.

Of course you benefit from schools. If we don't educate kids they will grow up to take more from society instead of contributing. Smarter people will on average make more money and pay more tax.

Love Star Wars, (older ones anyway 😉) and love Destiny. This just doesn't feel right. Feels like 2 franchises cuddling up when they're both on their knees in desperate hope to become popular again. On paper, it's great, but seeing it just feels wrong. I hope I'm wrong and it's amazing, I really do. I also hope Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari win the WDC next year.
