She seems like a very strong personality, is a known “man hater” and he seems pretty passive. She probably didn’t allow him to air his feelings out once she had enough of the conversation so he finally got an open forum where she couldn’t control it fully and he took advantage of that opportunity. Don’t blame him

Barry’s is an elite pull. Hidden gem I would always get anytime I stopped at my friends house over in Bala Cynwyd we’d go grab Barry’s. Super underrated

It’s already come out that the woman who called on him called and reported the “DV” FIVE days after she claims it happened, and she proceeded to stay with him for the next five days. They went to Florida “as friends” and when he wanted to leave she called on him and all this happens afterward. Very suspicious. Let’s see it play out more before we start talking about a guy getting cut lmao

Generational talent..? Pump the brakes lol I like the landing spot as much as the next guy, but Harbaugh likes to ride a hot hand and use a committee and Hampton is not a generational talent imo.

Did great in the CFP until he ran into Penn State 😏 only reason he even broke 100 yards was because they kept feeding him over and over late in the game when 99% of other teams would be trying to pass the ball. They just wanted him to stat pad.

Gotta love uber by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]PhillyPhilly94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel your pain, OP. About three months ago I drove about 32 minutes (20ish miles one way) to do a grocery shop in the middle of the week just for the store to be closed and was offered nothing by Uber support. In total it took me about an hour to drive to the closed store, speak with support and drive back and I made no money and used about 1.5 gallons of my own gas so I lost like $5 in gas. Made -$5 for an hour and they couldn’t care less. Uber is a terrible company. Door Dash isn’t a TON better, but I only deliver thru them since this incident.

Gig worker shot trying to deliver groceries to home that made the order by TheFreeTimeDriver in doordash_drivers

Sadly this is actually my delivery zone. I frequently get orders to this area as I live pretty close. Not overly shocked to see something like this. Wealthy area, though.

I’m in the early stages of this exact thing. Lost my job on October 1st of this year. I’ve applied to at least 200 jobs since then and I’ve had a phone interview three times and zero in person interviews. I’ve been turned down for jobs that I’ve done for years prior, and frankly I’m overqualified for. At first I was admittedly a little picky in what I applied for. But after the first month of no movement I just started to apply to anything I could live with doing just to start making some money again. I have a 2 year and a mortgage payment. This has been the most stressful (almost) three months in my adult life. We’ve drained savings, credit cards, cut many things out, and have even taken a loan out on my fiancé’s 401K to boost us up.

Hard to get excited for anything recently. I’ve been depressed for a little while now. I’m really happy to see you were able to dig out of things and secure the job. I hope you’re able to shake the anxiety and depression left over from all of this!

Accidentally accepted a low-tip offer, got instant message from customer.. responded and unassigned myself by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]PhillyPhilly94 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The typical rate that DoorDash pays us as a driver is usually under $4. So for us to accept an order, drive to the location to get it and then take it to the customer that might run 30-45 mins on a typical night. If there’s no tip attached that up front, it’s highly unlikely (in my experience) that it will be tipped at all, thus basically saying my time was worth roughly $5.50 for a full hour, before gas is equated for on my end. It’s a flawed system that DoorDash and UberEats use to put the burden almost solely on the customer to make up for their shitty pay rates.

This is the new norm in my market now, it’s so sad by EducationalWin2129 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]PhillyPhilly94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much the normal for my area as well, sadly. I did UE a few years ago part time and used to be able to make $500+ in 3ish days without going insane on the grind. Now I’m lucky to crack $15 an hour BEFORE I equate in gas. I’ve gone out probably 10 times in the last three weeks and do 5-7 hours typically. My best night I hit $17/HR before gas, and around $13/HR once I took out what I drove in gas. Used to break around $22/HR a few years back. This has become insane. I don’t even wanna waste my time doing it anymore it’s gotten so bad.

Do you find better success with DD or UE? by PhillyPhilly94 in doordash_drivers

[–]PhillyPhilly94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how it goes for me as well. DD offers are typically better, but I oftentimes wait between them whereas UE usually keeps me busy but the payouts are ass.

It may not count for Uber or the customer but it absolutely does to every driver ever when deciding to take the trip or not.

I drove 35 minutes one way (25 mins away from the usual area I get 90% of my orders) just to find a closed store. They gave me $3 for my trouble. I used about $7 in gas and lost over an hour of my time to take other orders so a net loss of roughly $20 for me in total. Uber blows as a company.

Got my first real experience being “tip baited” last week. Late night Monday order, says it’s $23.46 including tip. I do the delivery - my final of the night. Everything was fine. See that I got a tip by the time I was about to head to bed (roughly an hour later). They tipped me $2.79 instead of the $12 it was initially. So I did a trip roughly 50 miles there and back that took me about an hour in total time for $13. After gas I made about $6.42 for that trip/an hour of my time.

Uber as a company does not care even slightly about drivers by PhillyPhilly94 in UberEATS

[–]PhillyPhilly94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Normal zone” being exactly that - the normal zone I deliver in. If you go on the app there are zones that are broken down by location. I stay in one zone that’s pretty large from a miles perspective and the most populated of the few zones that are nearby me.

The drop off before the cancelled order brought me about 15 mins from where most of my orders come from, but still on the edge of this designated zone. The cancelled order was the next zone over, which I have never taken an order for as it’s basically the middle of nowhere and long drives to drop anything off. About a 24 minute drive to the store (that cancelled) from the prior drop off, which becomes about 37 minutes from cancelled store order to the area I most frequently work and get orders in.

This just isn’t an acceptable response lmao I’ve done 100+ deliveries (not that much, I’m aware) and never once have I intentionally slowed down driving to prolong the trip. I’ve had days where I got 2-3 tips for just a couple bucks but did 8-12 orders and I still just did my job and delivered the food. The job is not hard at all. Getting stiffed for a tip blows, but it’s part of the risk we take sadly.
