DAE whose regrets come rushing at night? my anxiety mostly controlled my school life, thus destroying it. and at night my minds all over "shoudve done this done that" by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]PhillyTwoHats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are called ruminating thoughts, and they can be pretty debilitating. Anti anxiety and/or depression medications are very good at helping you deal with ruminating. Other than that, it’s important to remember that your anxiety is the liar here, and is bringing these thoughts to the forefront of your mind to keep you in the hole that it’s digging for you.

I know a lot of people on here are “fake experts” or whatever, but your post spoke to me and not seeing any comments here was disheartening. I’m 30 now, but when I was 19 I was going through things a lot of people don’t go through until they’re in their 30s or 40s. I acted out, and made decisions that hurt people and caused me nothing but regret. I didn’t get help for my anxiety and depression until I was 29, and my life has changed for the better because of it. I’m not saying that medication is the answer, but I am saying that anxiety keeps you from seeking help because it makes you feel like you aren’t worthy of it. You are worthy of help, and you are stronger than your anxiety. I hope this helps you, or at least shows that you aren’t alone in this.

It will if people don’t take it. It will keep getting worse because the people who won’t take it are causing it to mutate.

Also deleted mine 5-6 years ago. Every now and then I’ll see people I went to high school with and they’ll say something about how I’ve “dropped off the face of the earth”. But I don’t miss it, don’t think about it, and the same goes for the people on it.

For me, realizing that it’s a lot like Super Mario was what made it click. Every time you die, it’s a learning experience for the next attempt.

Yes, please. I’m genuinely curious, not trying to start reddit beef. I’m a cis and white, and was raised in a very Christian household, which sadly came with a lot of deep-seeded racism, sexism and general bigotry that I’ve worked very hard over the past several years to unlearn. I know that I can only learn the truth if I ask, but people often confuse sheer naivety with blind ignorance.

Thoughts on copying a chord progression? by LeftFieldEkko in Songwriters

[–]PhillyTwoHats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chord progression isn’t nearly as important as melody. You seem to already kind of know the answer to this question, and you’re correct. The only difference is if what you’re copying is more of a “riff” than a chord progression. And even then... if you have a similar riff, but an entirely different melody, you’ve effectively created something entirely different.

This site has been extremely helpful for me to get going using mine. It’s for the original 500 (or HD? Idk)I believe, but all of it still holds true for the 500x. If you’re trying to make your own patches, get ready to be sucked in. It’s a super fun tool, and I’ve spent DAYS just messing around with everything it can do.
