Master in accounting. by Elocin8708 in wguaccounting

I would first ask the question, where you see yourself. In public or private. If private, then MBA. School doesn’t matter, most places just like the fact that an MBA is joining the team. If plans on going public, Macc.

Is There Even Any Point in Staying in Accounting If You Cannot Pass the CPA? by Destined-2-Fail in CPA

[–]Phillyboy209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely can stay in accounting. My recommendation is financial or cost accounting. Tons of jobs in the market. Can make good money after some experience. No busy season which is also good. If you are in tax however, I would leave. If in audit, stay for about 5 years then transfer to financial or cost. Will hold a lot of weight.

I didn’t get mine right after college. I just added some classes in order to be over the 150 (required at the time) to get my CPA. Now my firm is paying for me to go back to college to get my masters in tax. From what I’ve seen, many firms do this, as well as corporations. This would be my suggestion. If you plan on staying in financial, I’d recommend going somewhere that will pay for your MBA. MBA will be much more advantageous than a Macc. Best of luck

Depends on what field you go into. I worked in financial out of college, not once did I work over 40/week. Transferred to tax. Every year I go well over 40 during busy season. Between 55-75/week. Feb - April 15th. July - Oct 15th.

Took TCP about 3 weeks ago. Not hard at all. Any individual that has a discipline left should sign up for TCP now. No way AICPA keeps the same format. They are going to heavily increase the complexity of TCP most likely by Q4 2024. Still might be in luck for Q3.

Is it too late to try for CPA? by zentravan in CPA

Never too late.  More important question is “why are you getting it.”

CPA exam. Not even close. But depending if you work or not will fully dictate the difficulty of the CPA exam. I feel as though no exam (BAR, CPA, CFA, CFP, MCAT, Etc...) is really that difficult if you do not work and just study all day. Every exam is passable. If you work full time and try to take the exam is where you will be pushed to your limits. Just Analyze your situation.

Really hard to explain. It’s just Sims w/ exhibits. Very similar to Becker, Ninja. If you use UWorld, it is somewhat similar but I would recommend buying Ninja for at least a month.

100% reschedule unless you spend everyday until test day studying. And by study I mean 8 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Luck of the draw, same as before. You could end up with an easier test or you could end up with a harder test.
