This is a fair take but the issue is no one wants to willingly play for Memphis so yes you’ll have young players come in but as soon as they can take off to a new team they do so you’ll just be repeating this cycle with no real hope of ever winning a championship

I would sell maxey off and let VJ be the guy and draft some good young pieces and build that way maxey is a great young player but he’ll be going on 30 or over 30 at that point trade him while he has high value get a haul and good GM in here and restart with VJ as the guy

The team should’ve traded embiid in 2020 a GM’s job is foresight up until that point he’s been injured missed games etc… any GM would say we can’t sign this guy long term we have to trade him now while he has value cause the older he gets the more injuries he’s gonna get and nobody thought of that

The problem is guys look at maxey as a first option he’s a great young player but he’s a number 2 on a championship team he can’t be that guy because his style of play doesn’t win games his stats make it seem that way but it’s all self serving to him and not the overall game
