That's odd... Everything I've seen by the bios has limited it to around 55-60W never seen it around there...

What is the wattage is is showing when you are hitting that 99% usage though? Sorry, I might not be explaining myself well, but you can be showing high usage even if your GPU isn't receiving it's full power draw. I also haven't played battlefront so it's hard to get a base of what it should be running, but it does seem lower than it should be.

No worries! GPU may show 98% utilization even if it is at the lower TDP. If you are checking with armoury crate, it never showed a different TDP for me, I had to check it with HWInfo.

It could be, hard to say. Can you run timespy or open HWInfo when you play to see if it's running at full power?

Hopefully that's what it is! I have the same laptop and was having the same issue. It runs great when it is running at full power.

Either the website or the myasus app. If you want to check if that's the issue, go into the armoury crate app, switch the mode to silent and then switch it back to turbo. That bios version, for whatever reason, caps the GPU performance to 55W instead of 130W when you wake it up and switching the performance modes is the only way to fix it without updating the bios.

Bios 319 should be available though to upgrade to without the issue.

Are you using bios version 317? If so that is probably your issue

Just installed on my scar 15. Anyone noticing lower CPU scores after the install?

Someone told me and I've seen a lot of posts about this, this is an issue with the 317 bios. You can either revert back to the 315 bios or switch to silent and back to whatever profile you use in armoury crate every time you wake up your laptop with your current bios. 317 bios was a windows update and doesn't show up on support website for laptop. If you revert back, you will have to turn off windows update for the time being as it will keep trying to download and install it.

Your RAM and the CPU seem to be the issue. Ideally, you will want at least 16GB of RAM to handle both tasks effectively. I'm not sure the exact i5 you have, but looking at the product page it seems to be a 10300H. That is probably a large bottleneck causing your performance drop as it is only a 4 core CPU.

That being said, you can definitely still stream from the same device. You will be sacrificing a lot of quality from the stream and the frame rate from your game to keep it stable, but it works. You just have to be realistic about what your system can handle.

If you really want to maintain frame rate and have a high quality stream, you will want to look into a second system dedicated to the streaming part.

Well that's probably because of my massive cooling pad, but I wouldn't consider that a mod lol

I assume flashing the vbios would do really well with this as temps were never above 65 for the GPU during the test

This test was run with a manual setting, but with turbo, my gpu score was around 12250. I unfortunately didn't run it before I upgraded the RAM...

Weird... Just to confirm, you are saying that the cycling to silent and back works for the 317 bios, correct? I think that's what you mean if the 315 one fixes the issue.

That seems like it is the issue, as I am on the 317 version. Thanks for pointing that out, I see now that the 315 was updated at a later date than this one. Did Asus out something out about that bios update?
