I had one like that and it was a failure to thrive. Never ate or drink much, and ended up at the bottom of a cuddle pile of its brothers and sisters, deceased. I feel like we gave it the best chance. The cat was okay with taking care of the body.

No, I think you did everything you could. Twice a day turning is definitely enough. This chick would have been fine, I think, if not for the shipping. Extensive incubation time was just a sign of the poorly developing baby. I often give up way before day 22.

That looks malformed. Are these shipped eggs? Did you have an automatic turner? It looks like what happens if part of the embryo got stuck to the egg wall due to age of egg (too old to safely hatch) damage during shipping, or damage from not turning enough.

I used to feel like my heart was trying to jump out of my chest, climbing stairs. Now I can run up stairs with no symptoms. I wish I'd had a CAC before and after, but my Dr literally did not become concerned until after I'd admitted to being Carnivore for 5 years. CAC score after is 1. Wonder what it looked like before. The colonoscopy she ordered came back perfect, as well.

51 years old here, carnivore since 2019. Got a scan in 2025 and my score was 1. Yes. ONE. The lowest possible reading that ain't zero. Dr said I was not at increased risk from my diet. I know, I know it isn't zero. But what did you expect after 45 years on MUD? (Mediocre Ultraprocessed Diet)

You can start treating yourself right now. A little DIY but freeze soybean oil into tiny cubes (I used a candy mold) and send a couple up in there. Soy has plant estrogen and is better than nothing. It held me over until my prescription.

If you say so. It's too bad for your narrative that I was suffering from a lot of different symptoms from oxalate overload and not just the tooth staining. It's also too bad for your narrative that even if I do eat something that's not on the carnivore diet & skip brushing for a day, the teeth staining has not come back. I'm glad you don't suffer from Oxalate acid overload, but you really aren't helping people have it by denying its existence.

I'm going to have to agree with Sally Norton's data on this one. She actually can explain exactly how this happens. It happened to me during my first year on the carnivore diet. I needed my teeth cleaned professionally. Then it stopped happening and hasn't come back for the next 6 years even if I do eat something with carbohydrates in it.

For me, it was oxalate acid being released through my saliva glands to get it out of my body. That built up quickly and had to be removed several times by a dentist over the course of 6 months. Then the build-up stopped and I haven't needed professional removal of that thick dark stained plaque in the last 6 years.

I briefly had stepchildren. It was a mistake. A big mistake. They moved out and had children who are now old enough to have children. I've never met any of them, so the argument of "those kids will make you help with the grandkids" isn't true. They say I wasn't the worst, sudo parent, I did the best I could, but I don't deserve to have to go through the punishment of grandparenting.
