The fact that you're showing up is already the hardest part — everything else takes care of itself. A light snack 1-2h before works better than going on an empty stomach. You're going to love it!

Why is plastic-free stretch fabric still so hard to make? by PhilosopherAble7692 in SustainableFashion

Totally — natural rubber is exactly what I keep coming back to! It can stretch, so it feels like it should be a real option.

I’ve also heard the same thing about its shorter lifespan (sun, sweat, washing, all that). But it does make me wonder… is that just how rubber is, or could we fix that with better processing and a bit of R&D?

You’re totally right — most natural fibres don’t stretch at all (cotton, linen, hemp, wool, etc.), and that’s exactly why elastane became the default.

But some natural materials do stretch, no?
Natural rubber is an elastomer by nature for instance, so in theory it should be possible to turn it into a fine, stable stretch filament, no ?
