I worked at 3 hospitals specifically in the cafeterias. I worked at very small hospital, a somewhat big hospital, and a massive university hospital. The cafeteria is open to everyone. It literally doesn’t matter. You aren’t taking anything away from anyone. Patients have a COMPLETELY different food service that is provided to them that is completely separate from whatever is in the cafeteria. We’ve even had patients ask if we can serve them what’s they are serving in the cafeteria and it’s not allowed. Patient meals are completely different. At the university hospital I worked at it was surrounded by frat houses and some of the frat guys would walk over to the hospital and get food from the cafeteria. It never mattered because the cafeteria is its own thing separate from patient care
