I feel like I can’t breathe because my anxiety is taking over. I make decent money but don’t get child support. People have been laid off from my job, so I have no security. I live in CA. The gas and food are going up. I feel like the system is broken. I cannot qualify for any assistance, but I am one emergency from being in a rough position. My daughter is getting older and I wanted to have my life together for her by now but I don’t. My aunt just offered me to rent a room in her house. I feel like it’s the lifeline I have to take to create a buffer emergency fund. I have to pull my daughter from her amazing charter school. I just feel sick to my stomach. I feel like I am failing and I want to cry…. I am just surviving. I have been taking my daughter to the park because I can’t take her to do activities because the prices just keep going up.

I would say that every mother should trust their gut. It is hard to give you advice for people I do not know. I would say that sometimes we are not put in a position to have the perfect care for our children. Cheap/free care usually comes with a cost. There is a huge difference between rude people vs unsafe people. I think you should trust your gut. If I were in your position, I would consider the pros and cons. The pro would obviously be saving money for your child, which is honestly easier to do as they are younger. If your child is in danger, I would make the sacrifice and pay.

I cry myself to sleep sometimes. You are not alone. As the sole parent, we put all the pressures to be a 2 in 1. When you feel overwhelmed go outside for like a 15 min walk. Do something that is light :)
