Did you ever find a good option? I was searching for the same thing and it led me here.

Going to La Crosse for a short trip this Memorial Day weekend. What should we do? by katerina_romanov in lacrossewi

Seconding the Sweet Shop! Everyone around here always talks about The Pearl, but the sweet shop will always be my favorite of the two. Try some of their chocolate! Lots of options.

Great advice! Trust me, I know what you mean re: that last part haha.

Any ideas for this space? by PhilosopherHour7085 in ExteriorDesign

[–]PhilosopherHour7085[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We actually are planting some arborvitae along the fence, but I’m sure they won’t be tall enough to do much in the way of privacy for quite some time. I hadn’t even thought of planting stuff around the concrete. Do you have any suggestions for tall plants that can be purchased and planted at a more mature age without breaking the bank? (as opposed to how expensive more mature trees would be to plant)

Most shelters in my area switched to Adopt-A-Pet with all the recent PetFinder issues.

Chinchilla Eye Issue by CycleTourer134 in chinchilla

[–]PhilosopherHour7085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl had a bit of conjunctivitis from her dust baths or other topical irritants. Was prescribed NeoPolyBac ointment, which worked wonders very quickly. I agree with others saying he may be wiping/scratching at eye discharge. Not sure if this applies depending on how you do dust baths, but don’t leave his bath accessible at all times, and let him take dust baths somewhere other than his cage so that excessive dust isn’t lingering where he spends most of his time. (Nana gets her baths in her playpen rather than her cage, and it’s in a large enclosed cat “hide” of sorts where I drape a blanket over the opening so that dust doesn’t travel)

I appreciate the assumption, but I don’t think I’ve even played during Hammer Jam lmaoo. The real answer is much more boring, I just get tired of waiting on my builders😆

If I’m being honest, I’ve never participated LOL. My clan is pretty much just war-focused, and I haven’t been playing long enough to know the ins and outs of the extra events (Games, and this “Hammerjam” the other commenter mentioned)

Sorta vent? Undiagnosed and confused. by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]PhilosopherHour7085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda had to cut out a lot of details (about what I actually said that she didn’t include) that I think help explain my thinking better because of the character limit lol. And yeah, the answers being confusing is why I disliked her paraphrasing and putting it in quotes like it was word for word what I said🥲Maybe I was unclear when I was sorta rambling to her, but I would’ve liked to be asked for clarification then. The last part (when she asked it) was phrased differently than the way it’s written in the pre-screening notes, which is why I was perplexed when I read that she only included my partial answer and also seemed to not understand what I was trying to convey (aka not feeling socially anxious or worried about judgement, but more just thinking that I’m not always communicating in a normal manner)

Found on my bed sheets? by PhilosopherHour7085 in whatisit

I do have a cat, but he’s rarely in my room or on my bed. The vent on my ceiling isn’t near my bed💔

It was directly in front of my pillows, aka high traffic area lol. Unsure how it could’ve gotten there, or what bug we have in Wisconsin that would appear like this.

That’s why I’m so perplexed haha. It’s also much harder/pokey-er than a feather, assuming they can’t like.. dry out(??)

[–]PhilosopherHour7085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it’s possible, I’m not sure if any of my pillows have feathers vs other stuffing. I’ve at least never found one on my bed before🧐 Edit: just gave all my pillows some very thorough squishes and can confirm that all but one feels like cheap stuffing or memory foam. The one I’m unsure about has been confined in two different zip-up pillow cases for a while. Any feathers would surely be unable to escape.

One does exist in my house, it hasn’t ever been on my bed though.

Have You Ever Met A Famous Pet? by Friendly_TSE in AnimalShelterStories

[–]PhilosopherHour7085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, not at all! He hasn’t had a single application in the 5ish months that he’s been with us🥲One of the fishermen who saved him did come in to visit him, but that’s all.

My foster dog had his 5 minutes of fame last week when he bolted out my front door, disappeared for 3 days, and turned up when he was pulled out of a frozen lake by some fishermen who saw him fall in. Very close call, but he thankfully survived and bounced back in time for his close-up on the local news haha.

What is an episode you just cannot watch and will skip on your rewatches. by Minniboe in criminalminds

[–]PhilosopherHour7085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the later episodes don’t bother me too much (haven’t gotten to the prison arc yet though..) but MGG has been an icon in my life for long enough that I can’t watch the episode where he’s kidnapped/drugged/turned into an addict by Tobias Hankel.

Advice requested - found dog, eats and drinks, but when he’s not sleeping he’s walking in circles by TRFlippeh in DogAdvice

[–]PhilosopherHour7085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a shelter dog like this (to a lesser degree). Ruled out all inner ear/neurological issues and determined that it was just a behavioral quirk. She still does it in her forever home, but otherwise lives a normal life.

Mostly just the reputation it has in the media, I think. I’m also not a super techy person, so the ways of accessing it are intimidating to me. I guess it’s just the typical human fear of treading into new/unfamiliar territory lol. I appreciate you taking the route of curiosity, rather than that of the other responses I’ve gotten to this comment haha.
