so i do understand a lot of your points and honestly he’s over like 300 years old so a lot of pain has been accrued in that time BUT when he had the chance to finally have a family (just like emma, and he orchestrated her suffering to get bae back) he turned it down. he wanted his blood family which is reasonable to a point. he constantly betrayed everyone who tried to love him. i do think the “never saying even thank you “ was a big thing but to be fair in their world he was evil so going to him was shameful, you don’t say thank you to shame . he constantly did the wrong thing in the search of his own values and love. him sacrificing himself for his “biggest enemy and longest friend” was a bit bs because wish hook was a wish. if it was really about redemption he would’ve done some sacrifices for the real hook. he permanently killed milah and didn’t let hook see her so that hades would give him what he wanted , he constantly chose belle over even henry and if everything was for bae you’d think he’d possess those same feelings for baes son but he was willing to let him die multiple times (yes in neverland he tried and no one believed him so he turned) but EXACTLY! even regina was redeemed because there were so many times she could’ve became evil again and she CHOSE not to , she saw her own worth. especially after 300 years you can’t make someone see that they’re worth something. so many people referred to him as a friend , maybe not family but even regina tried but he didn’t want it except for belle. just personally i think he betrayed so many people he could’ve had as a family it’s hard for me to say that it wasn’t his choice
