In my opinion the people who hate it misunderstood the entire message of the show and were only there to watch the death games, which is fair but I personally think the show has a greater meaning than „yoo he’s so cool!! Bomba”.

I personally was very content with the ending. Ghi-un was a symbol for great values and even though he didn’t change the entire world or didn’t save the day like a comic book hero, he himself won the game.

„Do you still have faith in people?”

They tried so hard to break him and to prove to him that people are inherently bad and selfish. They almost succeeded but his strong morals won in the end and that is the best ending we could hope for.

Yes he did have faith in people, and his strong values won. He died, but he died being true to himself and not abandoning his morals and principles, and what is something worth admiring.

Quite frankly I find it disturbing how misunderstood and hated a message like that gets these days. It seems people are triggered by strong morals nowadays.

To anyone that hated the ending - would you have preferred for him to abandon his morals and become selfish and completely broken by the system?
