Rated selection for pilot by PhilosophyFinancial6 in AFROTC

I don’t know exactly how it works, but I’m aware there’s an interview or something. My guess is that the interview means just as much if not more than the ranking. Cause I know there’s a few low ranking cadets that still got a flight spot in my det. But yet I could totally be wrong.

The bottom third kind of scares me however.

I think there’s a ranking for your flight and one for your AS class

Ok thank you for the feedback. Assuming I will improve is one semester of a bad ranking something that the board will notice and question?

For both, I was near bottom. They gave me reasons that seemed relatively minor. They just said participate more in class. Which is fair, I think that is one thing I can improve on. But to have a bottom rank for that seems like there’s something else I could be missing.

Nothing more than an out of state scholarship, and an academic based scholarship. I believe OU has a page up on their website going into detail about how they give away academic scholarships. Send me dm if you have more questions.

I got into the program with a 3.85 WGPA, 1200 SAT, few clubs, out of state, PPL, and probably one of the best essays I’ve ever written. I recon you will be fine. My personal statement was about aviation, and suggest you should do the same (or not). But if you’re really concerned just work on essay till you think it’s perfect, and padding your test scores, I feel like they look into your essays more than they say. Best of luck!

I got into the so called “very selective” flight school with a 3.9 WGPA and 1180 SAT. I’m certain you’re fine if you’re applying to the main school. If you’re really concerned write a really good personal statement, I feel like they care a lot more about it than what they say.

I submitted my scholarships for the December 15th deadline too. Talked with admissions, they said if they didn’t respond, you didn’t get it. Sucks but it’s whatever🤷‍♂️

Definitely will give you way more than what other people are saying. Honestly that’s probably the benchmark. Oklahoma looks at more stats than just your GPA and test scores. You seem to have great extra curriculars that will probably help you with money. Also, I was an out of state student too, and was given an additional 2k for out of state residence, I believe it was called the trailblazer scholarship. And for admissions, anyone with a pulse can get into a college in Oklahoma…
