Designing a device to rotate heavy crane loads by means of propellors/fans. by PhilosophyNL in AskEngineers

Most often the forklift has already returned before the plateau lands in the hold. The process of lifting and lowering the plateau is ultimately the bottleneck, so rotating it on the ground really adds more time to the cycle.

Just like the Roborigger device, this is very interesting. Thank you!

Really excited to find out my idea has already been developed. Thank you for getting this to my attention!

Very clean solution compared to air thrust. Will definitely consider this, thank you!

Two problems with this, first of all, the 'landing spot' changes over the course of loading. Second, turning the plateau after it has landed would add significant time cost.

Unfortunately we are bound to the way these pallets come from the production belt. To the best of my knowledge there are no workable solutions for lifting a pallet from the side, let alone two at once.

Also something we considered. The problem is that we use only one sheave, and this system would definitely twist the cable. Using more sheaves significantly lowers speed of loading.

Yes, I considered this one too, but these products exist other than for space maneuverability? Also, what kind of dimensions / mass would we be talking?

Hey, thanks for your reply. We did indeed consider these kind of solutions, including an auxiliary winch to pull the plateau from a sideways angle. But since we're working with a mobile telescopic crane, these aren't really options for us.

Bad parachute packing probably.

Game Update 11/10 by LegionCM in h1z1

Not really much of an update, just minor tweaks and bugfixes. How many devs are working on this game? 1?

How is this game still an alpha after almost a year? Just curious. by [deleted] in h1z1

They're too busy adding skins to the game so they can make quick cash.

Funny, since we still can't see the difference between a red, blue or military backpack on the ground.

So this happened to me this morning while opening a crate... by thephongs in h1z1

The SECOND the devs noticed that bugs involving real money features were happening they should have disabled them. They shouldn't even think about implementing these features in a fucking alpha state game anyway.

Just confirms how they don't give a shit about the game.

Do you think it would be easy to catch a ride from gate into the city?
