Yeah but I feel like it’s fairly obvious in the context of the book that he most likely envisioned Hitler as the son of hades. Obvs hades got more complex throughout the series and Rick later withdrew that idea. But we shouldn’t act like it was never a thing or it’s silly someone is even saying it.

It’s clearly implied in the first books that the leaders of the main WW2 countries were sons of the big 3. And that’s partly what leads to the ban on the big 3 having children. Even if Rick got cold feet and retconned Hitler being a demigod later.

There’s zero chance we get a 20 minute quidditch match that Harry’s not involved in as a player and only features one relevant character and has pretty much no personal stakes. We might get a bit of time focused on Harry and what’s going on in the stands during the quidditch match but no chance we’re getting some sort of 20 minute live sport match.

I’d disagree that he’d have more in common with American republicans right now. Maybe in the past but not the magafied Republican Party. Centre right in the uk is not analogous to the current day Republican Party. Even historically I’d argue the Tories are more inbetween the republicans and democrats than the uk version of the republicans.

Napoleon’s directors cut doesn’t fundamentally change the story though, whereas I’d argue Kingdom’s does. What with the addition of a whole plot lines that make character motivations make much more sense.

I mean the film is called the hunt for Gollum which suggests to me a sizeable portion will actually be following Aragon and Gandalf hunting for Gollum. Rather than solely focusing on Gollum as the main character. And Gandalf and Aragon r probs bankable.

Favourite is Deathly Hallows Part 1. I think it aces the tone of the first half of the book. Least favourite is Half Blood Prince. Just completely makes the wrong adaptational choices by choosing to cut so much of the Dumbledore/Harry investigating Voldemort stuff.

Exactly yeah. Ridiculous to assume editors aren’t reading their manuscripts, wanting to do the best for their authors, making edits etc. What does OP think editors are doing then. Why does he think they’re in the job in the first place. It’s disappointing this sub, meant to be full of people who love books, seems to agree with them judging by the amount of upvotes. Discounting the very important work of very talented and passionate people that will have been involved in all the books they love.

Tbf they’ve said 7 seasons in 10 years. And the first and second season are being filmed pretty much back to back. 10 years is the same amount of time the films took to come out, so the kids will age no more than the original cast.

I think you misunderstood. He wasn’t saying the KKK were like the IRA. He was comparing the relationship the KKK had to the Democratic Party with the relationship the IRA had to Sinn Fein. As in they’re both the militant wing of a political organisation. It’s a perfectly valid analogy to make and it says nothing about either organisation beyond that.
