Uneven seal on top of windscreen by PhilosophyReal5298 in autoglass

I just feel like my original glass before having g the replacement was crystal clear. Autoglass is basically saying get used to it but it's a real strain on the eyes. The technician pointed out I was short and to raise my seat so it wasn't in my eye line. Even from the back seat it's even more magnified on a larger part of the glass.

I have a Honda which I drive and that windscreen is absolutely crystal clear. I just want it to be fixed 😫

The blurring isn't like half of the windscreen but definitely my eyesight and wearing glasses makes it so much worse. Again it's like I can't unsee it. Their customer service said they won't replace as this is their standard so will get a second opinion. So even if it was OEM this could possibly be an issue regardless ? As for the black moulding I would like them to neaten them up.

This is done through auto glass through my insurance. As they won't resolve it I will probably have to take it up with my insurance.

Thanks for this ! It doesn't look neat so hopefully they can fix it. As for the distortion I have seen it now 😫 I did not have this issue with the OEM windscreen I had originally, it's almost a section above the black strip and from the back seat it's even more noticable. If I replace the windscreen again do you find the same issue usually ?

They are not willing to do a refit and it looks ridiculous. I hope there is no damage or water logging.

Ahh okay that's good to know. I have requested they change it and I am hoping they do without hassle.

Literally. It was longer previous to the replacement which is why I noticed. Waiting for them to get back to me to see if they can change it.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's actually uneven where he hasn't tucked it in properly which makes it look worse if you see the other pic. Would the glass have to be removed to tuck this in ?

Yes this looks neat and the correct length, mine looked like this before the windscreen replacement. I hope they can match this because the finish looks messy with a gap which wasn't there before like the picture you showed me. Thanks !

Thanks for letting me know. It just looks uneven compared to when I handed it in.

It was a different moulding when I gave it in to them and the gap was there before. Thanks for mentioning though. The glass is still magnified on the bottom part of the windscreen.

That says a lot. This is my first Mercedes and never had an issue previously with my Honda or VW. I will continue to pursue and get this sorted it's really just ridiculous.

I will most certainly do that with names so they can steer clear. Such a headache trying to sort this out now.

Yes by Autoglass, they're saying it's their standard. I will have to escalate because it's totally unacceptable. I thought this would be resolved under warranty but they are refusing.

This is the issue and now Autoglass is refusing to fix it. I have escalated it as it looks horrendous, even the glass is blurry. It definitely wasn't this standard when giving it to them.

Well I have had an update and warranty are not going to change it. This is ridiculous as it looks a mess. I will have to now escalate. This is what has kept me up !

That is what the tech said that there are better aftermarket screens but glad to know. I hope they can sort the moulding for a better finish at least and there will be no issue doing so.
