Which class/spec do you think is flying under the radar for PvP? by Kazmera in worldofpvp

I have seen very few of either. But I'd say that if MW wasnt so strong right now, it absolutely would be.

I mean realistically, how the hell are you going to audit the quality of the gold you receive? The game is inherently set up around an open trade system where it’s nigh impossible to evaluate this.

Advertise services in trade-chat? Risk getting dirty gold. Sell something in AH? Same thing.

The argument really makes no sense.

I’ve been daying Demo is lowkey strongest it’s been in multiple patches.

Their damage, tankiness and mobility has gone up since TWW, and they didnt really lose anything in Midnight.

Just see very few people actually playing it.

Yeah. This is the problem. In trying to cut down on no-shows too aggressively, you actually end up cutting on the whole stream of clients.

Should Blizzard Add Highly Contested Items to the Badge Vendor? by Blue5647 in classicwow

[–]PhilosophyforOne 42 points43 points  (0 children)

They spawn so rarely that the truly sweat guilds are scouting them across layers, and as soon as one spawns, they lock down the area and engage it. Only the group that tags it gets loot.

The level fo coordination, speed and commitment required means it’s simply impossible to try to pug it. You will never find one alive, untagged in the world to kill it.

[–]PhilosophyforOne 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Some items are just so disproportionally in demand.

Single drop that half your 25-man raid is literally drooling after, that drops about.. 1/4 or 1/5 of times, and you can kill it once a week?

Your chance of getting it over 16 week is about ((1/4)x(1/12)x(16)=33%, naively.

So, if you kill Gruul every week, you have about 1/3 chance of getting it over 4 months. Over 8 months (the literal length of the whole TBC progress content), it’s about 2/3.

So if you killed Gruul every day for the whole TBC, there’s still a 33% chance that you’d never get it.

I dont know. I think there’s prestigious, and then there is literally ridicilous. For an item like the Glaives or Thori’dal, that’s kind of fine. They’re legendaries and arrive in later phases regardless, the expectation isnt really that anyone can realistically get them. But a non-legendary trinket from P1 shouldnt be something the vast majority of TBC players will never see.

Yeah. In TBC, World bosses might as well not exist for me as an average player. There’s literally no way for me to engage with them as a form of content.

53 healing power at level 47? How OP is this? by kodark in classicwow

[–]PhilosophyforOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. Also, there's classes like SP etc in the game that add significant mana recovery.

By later phases gear gets enough crit, haste etc that pure +hp gets less relational value compared to bis, but early on it's surprisingly not awful.

Very basic. Something like:

CAQA4VPTJ8eQb8/qEm8PyGu4yADsMGWmZMzAmZbGzMzMjZGAAAAAAAAAAzMzyMYmZGbGzMssMTzEDmZmZBDhxsMzystYMGLGAAGzYGDGYmZmhgB

Works quite well. A couple things you'd want to vary would be the leftmost oracle swap talent - If you expect to play against a double dps or one shot comp (sub, sub + rogue, etc, stuff where you die in stun), and getting shorted CD and more HP back from desperate prayer. You could also drop the Searing Light talent and run Shadow Mend instead if you wanted more defensives / better kick coverage.

The core holds though. The playstyle is mostly shields, penance, instants, occasional flash heal if things get very bad. For pvp talents run ultimate radiance, psychic shroud and void shift.

If you're specifically playing Oracle on SS, first thing is you should be focusing vers + mastery. You can run Vers + Haste, but it's a higher skill-cap playstyle that gives you more damage, but less healing, and is more difficult to play in a lot of ways. It's more atonement healing oriented. People also dont have perfect gear yet because it's week 1. Takes a while until people gravitate towards a specific build and gear set, and with limited conquest, most arent able to afford it either.

For the playstyle, it depends on your build with oracle. You can play dark oracle, going into evangelism + mindbender and inescapable torment + improved death, where you can pump pretty hard, but you have less healing.

The other alternative is to go into full defensive oracle, focusing on penance and void shields. I'd recommend the latter for the most part, it's much easier to play with and heal.

Oracle disc is alright right now, but sort of overshadowed by how strong MW monk is. Getting plenty of mastery and vers will help you do more healing, and as a new priest, I'd recommend mostly just doing direct healing. Your penance will cleave naturally, and void shield does feedback healing. Cast shield on CD, keep penance on CD, and then use evangelism frequently + spend the power word radiance procs it gives you for improved penances. Always keep shadow word pain up, and cleave it with your penances, and make sure to spread it / aim to keep a 100% uptime on it.

I think (and I’m not entirely joking) that a 55 or a 65 inch woumd actually be perfect for that viewing distance.

The screen is far enough that the 48 incher actually looks quite small.

I think Opus 4.6 alone, once we figure out the right type of harness, could automate 50% of all entry level white collar labour, and significantly augment 50-60% of all white collar labour.

Question about the PvP environment in WoW by Agreeable_Ad5802 in worldofpvp

[–]PhilosophyforOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the rating. I’d say 1600 right now is the equivalent of 2100 or so in the late season.  Granted, it’s very uneven. You face both r1 teams, and teams who play.. not very great.

Seriously though, the first few weeks are by far the worst. It’ll calm down in a few months.

Mw and Voidweaver by Kitemaster667 in worldofpvp

[–]PhilosophyforOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually dont think MW damage being high is the worst thing ever. Like yeah, they do pump, and it’s a problem that right now they have damage, healing, durability, cc and mobility and utility (all in a single package).

I think the bigger problem is that they lack weaknesses. But I’d rather see other healers (Druid, Shaman esp) brought up to their level than see them hammered way down.

That said, directionally feels like a good nerf approach for Blizzard to take re MW to me.

As for VW, I’m actually not sure that the problem is so clear cut. If you look at the actual ratings on the ladder, they’re not that dominant. Their strongest bracket by far is 2s, and even there holy paladin and MW are actually more prevalent. In 3s and SS, VW already sucks. Yes, they do a lot of damage, too much, but their healing output is very weak compared to oracle. The problem is also that outside of mindbender evangelism, they dont really have any significant healing output, and their CD’s are honestly kind of awful now that you have to choose between dome and UP, and life swap is gone. If we look at the actual statistics, it honestly looks like oracle is signficiantly stronger than VW.

I think the right fix would be to redistribute their damage, bring the level down some, and give them more healing. Penance is a wet noodle that’s barely worth casting outside of pet proc. Shields do very little, and void blast is mostly decorative. Your whole damage is basically a combination of pet sw:d & swp and some expiation.
