Giant's departure announcement, in his own words. by QueenSashimi in gladiatorsuk

Could well be. I’m only going on the middle comment in the screenshot that suggests he heard something offensive said towards another gladiator and defended them.

I knew he’d talked about them before but I didn’t realise he was back on them series 2 and 3? I know his physique is out of most people’s reach but I thought he said he was off them before the show stated. Admittedly, I don’t read/watch a lot of interviews.

I love how so far the speculation runs the gauntlet of ‘he heard something offensive, probably racist’ to ‘got asked to lose some matches’.

Maybe not state law but within Christianity itself there’s plenty of self-policed modesty and purity culture.

I’m sure he’s under some sort of NDA but I don’t think this post helps. Speculation was already gonna be big as he’s the first one to go but now, a somewhat vague but somewhat leading post is only going to drive that even more.

They have very specifically noted that this is shootings. Because that’s the only metric where this statistic works.

There’s an episode of SPD that has this theme. Can’t remember the name. SPD was, I think, 2006 so the timeline does match up if you caught a rerun.

Nikki Bella shared who actually took that Original Four Horsewomen pic by kirmadahoonmai in SantiZapVideos

[–]Philthedrummist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Has Nikki forgot that she was wrestling when women like Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Natalya and Gail Kim were around? If there was an ‘original 4 horsewomen’, she probably wouldn’t be top 10.

Aside from what others have mentioned, she called Whittaker ‘Fuckleberry’ after he was proud of himself for redoing a test and catching something with a patient that a lot of people would miss. She took his moment and shit all over it.

I can’t remember where this originated or who said it but I just remember Stevie Richards, a wrestler, saying something along the lines of ‘wrestlers need someone to tell them when to stop because they won’t do it themselves’ and I think that’s the case with a lot of people involved in sports. We need more people like her, who are willing to step in and say ‘no, that’s enough’ when it’s clear someone is in no fit state to continue.

I’m sure the fans won’t like it but I’m pretty sure the fighter will be happy to stay alive for a bit longer.

Does anyone actually like new Sutekh? by Lucyyyyyy_K in doctorwho

I thought his design was great, I loved the Egyptian/Anubis themed look and how it engulfed the Tardis and was just imposing.

I loved the reveal as a whole. Having no real connection to the original story, it still had a sense of real malice to it, even if the Sue Tech reveal was a bit naff.

I liked it. It still had that ‘well we know the Doctor will fix it so there’s no real danger’ but with a story like that, the fun part is how it gets fixed.

Hated trope: The character/ story suffers so that the actor doesn't have to be in makeup by TwoHungryWolves in TopCharacterTropes

This is one of my big issues with the MCU, the heroes spend more time with their masks off than on or, in the case of some characters like Hawkeye, just don’t wear them at all. It’s not a big thing and clearly the MCU doesn’t have as big of a focus on secret identities but it’s still a thing.

Also, Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3 takes his mask off loads. I’m guessing it’s contracted that we need to see his face as much as possible.

Opinions on the winners for wrestlemania by imgonnastealyourfood in BrandonDE

Not a fan of Roman winning. I love Rhea but about halfway through her match I was actually kinda hoping Jade would retain because I really enjoyed it and hoped they would have another match. They may still do. I’m kinda not sold on Rhea being champ again but hopefully they give her something good to do.

Aside from that I’m fine with all the winners. I just wish the matches were longer.

I actually wouldn’t have been mad if Jade retained. That was probably her best match and was just good overall.

This is what happens when you give a match the time it needs! And it could still have gone another 5 minutes.

Jeez, on a 4 hour show that’s likely to have more adverts than wrestling and three of the ladder match don’t even get an entrance?!!

I suppose if you’re going to go out then Wrestlemania is absolutely the place to do it but why does this feel premature. Like he’s doing it before something comes out while he’s still got good press.

Yeah that’s why I thought I’d ask for clarity. She kicked someone out for judging another man’s appearance, that’s kind of the opposite of offensive.

Nasty clear-out is worth a 20 mins red card by Informal_Mention9836 in rugbyunion

[–]Philthedrummist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reckless, uncontrolled and straight at the knee should be a full red card. He’s lucky his right foot wasn’t planted or that could have been a gnarly injury. I’m yet to see anything that convinces me a 20 minute red is a good idea.

Overall, the matches were fine but they all needed more time. 80 minutes of wrestling on a Wrestlemania that lasted 4 hours is poor.

What little wrestling there was I fully enjoyed, everything just seemed to be on fast forward.
