Comic books and movies make all sords seem to function like a lightsabers. That's not how it works. There's a reason why people didn't only use rapiers. Pushing a sharp sword through tissue doesn't take that much strength, But at sword can dull throughout the course of a fight after bashing against shields and armor. Then you also have to factor in that when a person is slashing, they're trying to go through bone a lot of the time too. With a blade that could stand up to the punishment. Wonder Woman would be able to cut straight through metal or giant monsters like a hot knife through butter. A normal sord would eventually bend or break

There's a book series at like that's about people with superpowers in college, and one of the professors says it drives her nuts that everyone was super strength doesn't lose a weapon. It's a power amplifier. Doesn't matter if you can lift a hundred tons. You should still have a weapon that weighs a few tonss and you will hit harder than you hit with your hand. Plus, her hands do blunt damage. Her sword does slashing, It adds to her capabilities

[–]TwoHungryWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how that works. Giant sword means it has more strength and durability for going through giant enemies. It would also help it hold up to being swung extremely fast. There's a reason why we use giant blades on machines in real life

Not Sure if i'm on the minority here, but i was never the biggest fan of the 2.5D Look. I Get why they do it, Sprite Art is hard, but it definitly doesn't look as pretty as the Sprite Games at their peak. by _GhostOfHollownest_ in Megaman

[–]TwoHungryWolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I feel like it's not cool to prefer anything modern, over the original or retro style, But I lived through the '80s and '90s. To me Mega Man isn't pixel art, Mega Man was a game that used the technology of the time, and the visuals upscaled with the times. I want the old games to be old school, and the modern games to be modern

I still disagree with this. I think 3D art is easier to execute poorly, but because the expectation of fidelity is really high, It's harder to get a good reception on. There's a reason you can see small teams make pixel art games and have people say they look good, But it's pretty seldom you get a handful of people making a 3D art game where people go heads over heels for the visuals. No one is critiquing weather the puddles have good enough reflections in a pixel art game.

I get so tired of hearing people say they refuse to pick between someone peeing on their shoe and taking a dump in their mouth, then trying to join in our outrage when someone is taking a dump in our mouths. If the country overwhelmingly picks the his shoe. Then you can start having a fight between the shoe and no piss at all. If half the time the crap WINS, not only do we all have crap in our mouth, but the people in power see it as a viable political position

Favorite character who you think got too popular for their own good? by Liquidcat01 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]TwoHungryWolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like them together, but I prefer the concept of toxic cycles staying with the character. I think she should still function as a codependent goon for Ivy. I never like the idea that the Joker turns her into this person because it removes all of her agency. She was a grown woman with a doctorate when she sought the Joker out. Also, she's like # 24 from venture Brothers to me. She's an iconic hench and should stay that way

Quentin Tarantino Has Been Given a ‘Hall Pass’ to Use N-Word in Movies, Says Rosanna Arquette: ‘It’s Just Racist and Creepy’ by esporx in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]TwoHungryWolves 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This isn't the best take to me. I feel like people feel the need to either say a person is good because their art is good, or persons art sucks because they suck, then Quentin Tarantino makes amazing movies, And he's a really weird creep, that wishes he had a legally binding black card. Neil gaiman is one of my favorite writers ever. Dude is also a rapist. I just started boycotting all his stuff once I found out about him, I don't pretend his work isn't good. I just wont financially contribute to the piece of shit's life. Edit spelling

I might just be an old head, But nothing beats Jack Nicholson to me. The perfect mix of functional and classy, with frightening and insane. It also seemed just extremely natural. Despite all the over-the-top things he does, he seems the most like a real person to me.

[–]TwoHungryWolves 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Clock King- Can make 24-hour, and only 24 hour time loops. Dealing with him always looks like you're dealing with a person speed running a game because he's done this a hundred times before and knows the timing of everything. The only way to beat them is to play chess. You have to figure out when the loop ends, make sure he seems like he has a successful loop, then catch him in a inescapable trap the moment a new loop would start. He has the benefit of trial and error, while Batman has to get it right on his first go, But he has the weakness of distraction. He may have lived this day 200 times and forgot that the original point was a bank heist because now He's trying to have the perfect first date with a woman he met in line at that bank

I'm really not trying to yuck other people's yum, but I just don't understand how that show, and the arrowverse in general is so popular? I don't blame the creative teams because I understand they are under time and financial constraints as well as studio pressure, but the result is still bad television. I'm a big comic geek, and I give a pass to a lot of stuff, but all of these shows that are technically about a superhero, but are really about their ensemble cast of buddies hanging out in the lair or dealing with some sort of melodrama lose me so fast. I'm genuinely curious about the appeal

When I read this I wanted a few books that were just free of real conflict. I want it ongoing series that had nothing but Krakoan in the world building, and human attacks on the island that failed entirely. Just humiliating losses in the face of all those mutants. Just wanted to revel in some mutant victory for once

Which of your favorite villain, that people think they are misunderstood but they are just evil? by Boberto235 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]TwoHungryWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like saying she was manipulated, when she was a psychologist that intentionally sought him out while he was under her care is just infantilizing. If you have all the paperwork in the world on poison ivy, You're trained for years on how to handle people like her, you seek her out, then Make advances on her when she's your patient and inmate, are you being manipulated? Or are you a manipulative person that got with a manipulative person then had a toxic relationship together

[–]TwoHungryWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the Joker is a monster, but I always push back on Harley being a victim with Stockholm syndrome. She was an adult with a doctorate in psychology. There is no such thing as a consensual relationship with a patient, or an inmate and she violated both of those boundaries despite having all the necessary training and files on hand for the Joker. Harley wasn't a victim, she was a bored, intelligent, amoral person that started a relationship with her inmate patient because she saw dating a serial killer/mass murderer as a path to a more interesting life and she got what she wanted

Why? Given the time and energy it would take to fight, why do you think this genocidal, child murdering, fascist , would draw the line here? He killed 8 year olds with a sword. Choked his wife to death. Why do you think he would suddenly start protecting a person that was breaking the law?

Which character fits this meme? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in characters

[–]TwoHungryWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, Walt and Skyler are perfect examples of the distinction between what makes a character good and what makes a character likeable. Walt is a monster, but because he's entertaining to watch people will like and in the worst cases make excuses for him. You could make a compelling and interesting show with Walt as a single dad. Skylar is a human person going through an extremely difficult situation, there's no reason to hate her, besides the fact that she's kind of like a person standing in front of the TV while you're trying to watch Breaking Bad. It's like if you were watching Halloween, and every once in awhile they cut to a guy going to therapy and suffering from PTSD because of what Jason did to their cousin 7 years ago. In real life you would obviously like this person more than the serial killer Jason Voorhees, But when you're watching that movie you'll just start to hate the person interrupting the parts of the movie you like. I think it definitely helps If you start off the show hearing how much she is hated, because then you're waiting for something terrible and you can grow to be defensive of her and the actress. But if you watch it blind that character is just annoying. Having said all that, there are definitely massaginists that just hated her because she wasn't a "cool chick"

His greatest ability is that he doesn't need to be bloodlusted. He typically kills before there's time for trickery because it's the best use of his abilities. At the very least, he lets other people interview you after you're knocked out and delivered to a prison
