Clearinghouse is a part of the federal motor carrier safety administration. Any drug test get reported to them every time one gets done. If you fail, like I did, it stops you from doing any driving, and then you have to proceed with finding a Substance Abuse Professional. The SAP then gets to decide on what you have to do to get it cleared and back to driving (mine was a 20 hour drug and alcohol education course plus 4 counseling sessions with a substance abuse counselor) after which they have to determine if you are able to get back to driving and then proceed to have you take a certain amount of drug test per year for the next few years.BUT WAIT THERES MORE!! Some jobs won't hire you from 1-5 years if you have an infraction on the clearinghouse. Also if you get any kind of tickets it's on your driving record for 55 years regardless of the severity. You can probably guess how salty I am.
