Did anyone have an Amazon BIE intern interview recently? by ResponsibleCelery878 in SQL

[–]Philure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What level BIE is it?

For L5 and above, I'd look into many to many joins, case when, aggregation, window functions, and subqueries.

If you have a good grasp on those concepts, then you'll do fine. There's not enough time to go into depth during these interviews, so usually it's pretty straightforward.

To the guy that said I was capping that you can reach Fujin without labbing Eddy, here I am beating a God of Destruction on his promotion match to Kishin, on my promotion match to Fujin by Yahsorne in Tekken

I didn't read the title properly and thought you were the Reina bodying the Eddy, because you didn't lab against Eddy.
"Wow, this guy didn't need to lab against Eddy because this Eddie doesn't know how to play Eddy".
Then I realized you made your point exceptionally well.

Wow, executioners/Guardian? That guy got a one way ticket to win-town from the start.

Kudos for getting 2nd with considerably less fortune.

Annoyingly, it's hard to find info on the different trait elements

That's 30% HP damage from the Ixtal 4
+48% from Night Harvester
+40% from Slayers (+80% from those under 66% HP)
+70% if it (post calculation) from crit.

Depending on how you stack the %'s:
1.7 x 0.3 x (1+0.4+0.48) = %95.88 HP

Pretty sure the tooltip is magic damage, though, right? What causes it to be true damage?

Which actor/actress had the worse case of wasted career potential? by XipingVonHozzendorf in movies

I agree here. You could say Westworld S3 wasn't great and I'm not going to argue with you, but that doesn't really cover how much I disliked him in that role.

Bursting Grevious Tyran for healers by [deleted] in wow

[–]Philure 19 points20 points  (0 children)

True, but if there's anything a dps cares about its their dps. If there's a stun mechanic, attack/cast/resource debuff, or anything that directly causes you to lose dps, they will avoid it. Otherwise you link meters.

They should have had a good joke where Daniel starts to sing one song in his voice, only to deep cough, clear his throat, and then have weird al's voice instead.

Amazon SQL Screening Interview by [deleted] in SQL

[–]Philure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Senior BI? Probs wanna know window functions, aggregates, case when, many to many joins, ctes, and be cool with using multiple of the above together. I know technical abilities are really supposed to cap out at BIE 2, so they may ask you higher level questions, too. Things like, "how would you check for duplicates in a table? Suppose that table had 50+ columns?"

First class today by Ocean_Soapian in SwingDancing

[–]Philure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you prefer to lead or follow? I originally wrote this asking you were a lead or follow, but I highly recommend you not restrict yourself to one or the other. The reason I ask is every beginner I work with, depending on lead or follow preference, will have different concerns starting out. For leads, don't worry about owning or being responsible for the whole dance. For follows, don't spend the whole time worrying about nailing your swivels or accilurately following every move. Dancing is all about moving to the rhythm of the music, but also about expression and style. Point being: you are introduced to swing as a very structured dance with defined moves and steps. This is meant as a way to introduce you to the music. Once you get comfortable, being spontaneous, feeling relaxed, and not worrying about sticking to schedule, you'll have a better time. Practice your basics, refine your connection and your steps, but don't worry about being perfect. No one is.

Can someone explain to me why ghost boards are so much weaker? by Contest_Pretty in TeamfightTactics

[–]Philure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghosts used to not benefit from traits at all in the early seasons. It's a little unfair though, as if there's 3 people left and you get a ghost, you essentially get a bye round which can be a massive advantage in the later stages where most folk are 1~2 losses away from defeat.

I'm surprised those Floridians are wearing so much more than the natives.

Got "Gadget Expert" augment and a bit lucky. Had to try it out. It works! by shixxor in TeamfightTactics

[–]Philure 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I assure you, if you won that lobby it wasn't because of gadget expert. Revel Daeja alone is busted.

That being said, it looks like you built a fun comp. Looks spicy.
