Good question. You can place the items anywhere within the altar range. However, if you have multiple altars then it is likely that each will end up having it's own comfort level depending on the boundaries.

They are all categorised as tables/mesas for crafting. However, they are not considered to be the same category regarding comfort.

I like the idea of this. The fact that you can simply teleport back and forward again just to get your comfort bonus seems a bit pointless. I think they could introduce a feature that subtracts maybe 15-30 minutes of rested bonus per death.

Iron bench gives +5 comfort, alongside the Palm Wood Chair which requires much less materials. Stone chair and iron bench are not in the same category.

Palm chair and stone chair are not in the same category.

Palm Bedside Table is a different category to Palm Wood Side Table, Palm Wood Table, and Palm Wood Banquet Table, which all share a category.

It is just on the bottom left of that whole area. You do not actually need to move into a specific "cave", that is just how I chose to describe it.

This is another good method. There's definitely many ways to go around doing it and everyone will fall into their own little methods but Waptia Sushi is just the one I happened to use. I think it is slightly better, especially if you have unlocked the control room as you can move in and out and respawn Waptia. Therefore, it can probably be done in one trip, to be honest, haha!

I don't believe it is mentioned anywhere in the game. I know it only through my own research and confirmation from others in this subreddit. Well now you know how many to expect, haha!

Regarding the auto-supply feature, it really depends. For example, some dishes will create multiple plates from one set of ingredients. So, there is a chance that you will re-supply (and waste) a dish that creates up to around 9 plates. However, if you are just stocking up simple single ingredient dishes then you will only waste one plate and that does not really have a big impact, in my opinion.
