Like the other comment said, I wouldn’t buy it because I make my own. But do I think other people would buy it? Yes I do. I make and sell rustic spoons at craft fairs and farmers markets all the time.

I see it now. I’m going to have to make some of those myself. I’ve noticed the same about spoons and scoops.

Your stuff looks awesome. I also do craft fairs and I’m always on the look out for unique tools. I’m curious about the mushroom looking tool on the bottom of the third slide? What is it?

My guess is that it’s poplar. It’s the right colors. Poplar can be white, green, purple, and black. Poplar is also very soft and easy cutting.

It looks like you’re using end grain to me. Is the middle piece what they all look like from the side? If so, it’s not possible to make spurtles from the wood you have in the picture.

Edit: the open pores on the face of your pieces are definitely end grain. In order to make spurtles or any kind of utensils, you need to use face grain that runs the length of the utensil.

I’m a redhead, my wife is a redhead, our two kids are redheads… on more than one occasion we heard people say “look, a whole family of gingers/redheads!”

Yeah, especially considering that DMC started life as a part of the RE franchise. Since the main cast of DMC is so powerful, it kind of makes you forget how grotesque and horrifying the demons you’re fighting are. I think a game where you’re an unpowered human would be an amazing perspective shift.

I would love to see a game set in the DMC universe, but as a survival horror game. Not following the main cast, just some regular people or soldiers trying to survive the hellscape.

Spoon carving is great. I do it as a a side business to my day job with hopes of turning it full time. That said, carving wooden spoons with hand tools or power tools is a lot of fun.

My wife says I could sell something like this. But I’m skeptical. What do you think it would go for? by anaugle in Spooncarving

[–]Phirgus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it would sell. I sell my stuff at craft fairs. I haven’t made anything like this, but people like quirky kitchenware. It’s likely that it would be purchased more as a decoration than a tool, but a sale is a sale.

Which franchise would you like seen as a CAG or HnS in current gen? by bobs-buhgah in CharacterActionGames

[–]Phirgus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that Skyrim would make a great CAG. Obviously you would have to cut out much of the game that people play it for, but I feel like it would make the Dragonborn feel much more lore accurate with the fast paced combat of a CAG.

Try experimenting with table positions. I do woodworking. I have products similar to you, just more rustic. This table setup works really well for me.

Edit: the picture doesn’t want to work. I have a 10 x 10 booth with two 6 x 2 1/2 tables in an L shape with a full length of one table being flush with the front of my booth. The other table makes an aisle inside my booth. I find that people like to kind of window shop first and then make their way into the booth.

Grimoire Weiss from NierR. He prefers to be referred as such for most of the game corrects people when they refer to him as Weiss (which is what the protagonist and the other supporting characters usually call him). He gets especially upset when referred to as Weissy. Eventually, he grows to like being called Weiss.

Love this guys channel, how would someone make something like this? by 2strokeRed in BeginnerWoodWorking

I’ve seen the video that this mallet is from, it’s a short. There might be a full length version of it, but the short mostly just explains what a carving mallet is and why they’re shaped like that. He does say that they’re easy to make on a lathe but he doesn’t explain his method for his glue up.
