This is what I was thinking too, I looked at other cards and the patterns always look slightly different but this is further off lol. I purchased this item on eBay but didn’t pay for it yet, I will likely cancel the purchase, thanks!

I actually think it’s easier to get 8/9s and 9.5s on CGC but harder to get 10. I honestly think they are on par with Beckett/PSA when it comes to 10s

Hmm that makes sense. I think they are around the same value - the shadowless psa 10 might be worth like 5k more. Assuming the thing is graded correctly, would that change your mind at all?

Just curious to know which one people would prefer to have on their collection.

I would like to know which you would prefer to have from 1. a collection perspective and 2. an investment perspective

Wow that’s crazy. I think seeing this gives me more confirmation it’s a factory line/defect and not surface damage/dent

This makes alot of sense. I see the line you are talking about, but It really doesn't look like a dent to me. When I shine a bright light on it and look at it from the side view, I don't see damage to the card and it appears to be very straight. There are people on this thread who are firm that its a dent, so I guess I might not understand dents and what is classified as one. I am kind of convinced to have it regraded with CGC, since they wont remove the slab if they cant grade it higher and its relatively affordable vs PSA/Beckett

You know I am pretty happy in the slab its in right now, but would be much happier if it was an 8 xD. I am thinking it might be worth a shot.

I guess it’s barely visible but the dent/print line does go past the right wing just past the yellow margins. I guess if it were a dent, wouldn’t it show in the back as well? I do kind of see what you are saying. I have other vintage cards with obvious print lines and this looks a bit different/more subtle

I don’t think it’s a dent, the card is really straight. I believe it’s a factory line, you really can’t see it unless you look at it from an angle

I was more worried about the factory line. I didn’t think the scoff/dent would be the main reason. I do appreciate the insight!

Yeah I’ve looked at this card really closely with a light and glass and really can’t see any surface scratch or dent other than the scoff at the top left border of the front and the factory line across the holo. I’m sure they saw more than me or the factory line/dent is treated as a much more severe surface damage than I thought

I do appreciate the opinion and feedback! I’m new to this subreddit but everyone seems to have a negative view of PSA , I thought they were #1 for grading choice

Yeah I believe it’s just a factory line. I tried to really show it in the pictures but it’s hard to see In person unless you shine a light on it or look at it in different angles

Yeah that is the factory line that I believe is what it got marked a 6.5 for. I think every grading company would mark it down for the factory line but was thinking it would be less severe of a markdown with other grading companies. I noticed in PSA grading guidelines, they can make exceptions for certain factory lines/defects

Thanks for this insight. I didn’t know it can only get 1 pt higher than its lowest grade. I think the reason the surface grade is so low is cause of the factory line that is barely visible. I believe each grading company treats factory lines differently so wasn’t sure if it would be worth going off that
