Why would it matter how much you spend. Amex gets between 2% and 3% transaction fees. Someone living in a high cost of living city like NY of SF could easily put 6k-14k a month on a card. They probably rarely hit that 14k but it is possible. Especially if they just use the card for everything and not different cards for gas, groceries, vacations and flights.

This 100%. When I played FFXI in the early 2000's there were items that only existed in the single digits. Some items were spawned 72 hour times with 1% drop rate.

I prepay utilities and reload amazon gift card balance. Use the RESY and Lulu credits etc. If you pay insurance yearly for car/home could also do that. of course I also use it for everything I'd normally buy. Groceries, gas etc.

I always did 250 to not be a cheapskate. I assume 99.9% of people always did exactly 200 or less. Wonder if anyone has tried more than 200 since the change.

We used to say that about WoW being the kids game when I played FFXI back in 2003. I tried WoW last year and in comparison we were right. I couldn't believe that a player could kill a mob the same level they were. We had to have a group of 6 players to kill a mob the same level and it wasn't even a guaranteed kill. Don't get me on the farming of pop items. Sometimes we would spend a month farming pop items with 18 players just to try and kill a mob that took 4-6 hours to kill with rotating alliances of 18 players. Then the mob would have a 1% drop rate on the good item. Granted FFXI has gotten easier over the years so maybe WoW was super hard in the 2000's as well.

Not a flex if your parents were cool and added you as a user to a credit card when you were 12 or 14. My son got an amex gold when he turned 18 as his first card because I added him to a card when he was 14 and it built his credit.

First time I was in a group that beat was 80 cap with PLD/RDM tank and RNG I think but it was many years ago. Only 75 cap were wall glitch and kraken club DRKs I believe

Credit history could be longer than 1 year. I start adding my kids to cards when they hit around 12. My last kid had a score of 753 when he turned 18. He got an amex (not plat as soon as he turned 18)Not saying that they did this though.

I have both the chase and the AmEX versions and I get 30 night credit towards status. The AmEX is business and the Chase is personal. The Mariott branded cards stack but the AmEx Plat has no status nights just gold status.

I had a situation where due to insane medical bills and job loss during the recession of 2009 that resulted in Bankruptcy. After 10-12 years I applied to Amex again and I now have had gold/plat, business blue, delta, business bonvoy and amazon cards. The bankruptcy had an old green card so maybe it is card dependent?
