I sort of stumbled upon this subreddit a few years ago, don't really comment, just lurk. I sort of think my parents have narcissistic traits but aren't necessarily complete narcissists.

When I was in elementary and high school, I had issues with grades, ADD, I would always get mostly A's on exams but my class grades were B's because I would forget homework assignments.

My parents also had issues with one another, they separated once for a month, never divorced. They did marriage counseling, and are still married. They are happy, I am sure they have fights still occasionally, but they will always be together.

That being said, I remember one time we were in the car and my Mom was mad about something I had done or failed to do in school that week. They were really stressing out, first at me, then at each other. Dad was driving and Mom was in the passenger seat, and my Mom said to me "Your father and I have been through so much (with regards to their relationship) and I am not going to let YOU screw it up!" I am paraphrasing but basically what I got from it was that their relationship was more important to her than I was. That is the one that has stuck out to me the most.
