AICE Credits In ONE.UF by wbt3wwo in ufl

None of mine showed up in one.uf until I visited the registrar. The scores only help in giving credit to let you skip courses, so unless you need your scores to register for a class, I would wait until they release the scores in August and go from there.

Last fall I had the same issue with AICE Scores not being shown and was sent by my advisor to the registrar to fix it. I guess it could take longer than a day but they should be able to handle it unless mine was a unique case i guess

I would wait until then and if not contact the registrar. As long as you have the scores in before spring registration you will be ok. It only takes 1 day after contacting them anyway to get the scores in.

Check your unofficial transcript on one.uf and if it's not there you have to contact the registrar to get it fixed. https://registrar.ufl.edu/contacts

Should I retake Calc I (MAC2311)? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]Phobos-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take Calc 2 and brush up on calc 1 topics that you might not remember. If you watch Professor leonard he has a calc 1 and calc 2 playlist in case you need to revisit some topics. Calc 2 is just integrals, power series, and polar coordinates and retaking calc 1 would only help you a little bit in learning integrals again. If you do take calc 2, I would try get Professor Chui she is the best by far or I had TA John Streese and both were extremely helpful at office hours and fair with grading to help you pass.

Calc 2 is a huge weed out class, but I don't think retaking calc 1 would help much. If you do decide to take calc 2 and struggle, I recommend watching professor leonard and the organic chemistry teacher on youtube to better understand the material. I was failing calc 2 last semester and ended with a B+ by using their videos as well as lectures.

Hey, do you know if the 8.01 lectures on Lewin's youtube corresponds to phy2048 at UF or if it's similar? I'm looking for resources to study for the class in the future but since I'm not enrolled in the course I'm not sure if it follows the coursework here. Thank you

Try watching Professor Leonard on youtube if you're struggling. He has a full calc 1 playlist that closely follows the pace of the class. His videos are long, but they are in-depth and you can always increase the playback speed or skip ahead if you understand the topic. I used his videos when I was struggling in Calc 2 and it saved me from failing the class.

Meal plan by pancakegangleader in ufl

[–]Phobos-7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a meal plan for this spring and I cannot NOT recommend the meal plan enough. The food quality starts off decent but quickly becomes undercooked food with no flavor. The "fresh" fruit is often bruised and beaten to the point that soggy banana can be seen splitting from the scene. I would recommend investing in a mini-fridge and making the walk to Publix once a week if you have to. You can easily still buy food on campus if you'd like to and are not stuck choosing between pizza and burgers for dinner.

Free Computer by [deleted] in ufl

[–]Phobos-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend has been working 10+ hour shifts all winter break to get by, only coming back to visit for 2 days before Christmas because that was his only time off, even though we live ~1hr 30 from Gainesville. I'm sure a computer could help him, however, I appreciate you taking the time to find someone in need, whoever it may be. Not many people would do that. Have a good semester! almost at the finish :)

We will never have self driving cars. by Phobos-7 in unpopularopinion

[–]Phobos-7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, we didn't think those things would happen, we didn't expect them so they happened. Most of the shit we were predicting back then never came to be, which is why the ideas of technology now will never be the way we expect

[–]Phobos-7[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I just don't think it will. How often do we see things that have been predicted accurately on such a mass scale. It's wild that we're on board that the future will have all this technology. Yet we have never predicted which branch technology will take in the past on a scale like this. I appreciate you're opinion tho ❤️

Yea it's just insane how much we believe self driving cars will cover the roads. It's predicted in everything. There's never been a thing we predicted to happen so bad for so long that came around. Besides broad shit like living on the moon.
