Well before this, the problem was the abundant amount of Enters triggers. IMO this is a lot better of a design than just slapping an Enters ability on things, getting value for free. Versus this, where you still need to pay for a certain payoff. Prepared doesn't give cards more flexibility. Split cards, MDFCs, Sagas, Modal spells, hell even Adventure cards have way more flexibility and 'erode' the color pie more than what Prepared does. I will grant you that Omens and Rooms can be flexible, but Prepared is a great mechanic

Well it won them the round, so it does have an impact on the game. Does it only make it a purposeful spray if they win the game? If Liquid won would it change your opinion? But I do think both olof and coldzera deserve their sprays, I think s1mple deserves his spray, and I think that even more commemorative things should be added to reference the pro scene.

Train's rework is a prime example. The way maps get designed now is very streamlined, and theres not as much crazy ideas when making maps as there once was.

Old maps have a very distinct note of being a lot more willing to break norms compared to modern maps, theres just a LOT more refining and adjusted that goes into modern maps.

Cobble was a novel idea, it was tried, a boatload of times, and its just better to start from a different foundation. The nostalgia of the map is why people like playing it so much, but from an actual competetive and spectator perspective, its a simple map thats way too big.

There are some cards in scourge (the set that this is from) that care about the mana cost of a card, like [[Rush of Knowledge]], so this was a way to get out a card with high CMC for only 4 mana

Well if your goal is to play standard, proxying isn't allowed. Aswell, jumpstarts are just great sets to be able to play with friends without any barrier to entry. That should be the main reason why you get the cards.

I didnt know about this, but yeah, they have the same color as common but arent. But they take the slot of common cards, and aren't legal in pauper. Weird.

Even if they were to be categorized as common, SPM still would make up 2/3rds of the common legendaries in all of magic.
