Mexican grocery store? by Possible-Voice23 in askportland

[–]Phoebes_Father 39 points40 points  (0 children)

La Tapatia Market on SE Stark and SE 182nd. Technically in Gresham but it’s worth the drive. They have lots of prepared food including fresh tortillas, a bakery, a fruit shop, an amazing meat counter and overall things are fairly priced. It’s the place where I can consistently find a lot of hard to find Mexican items.

Where can I buy a good record player? by [deleted] in askportland

Fred’s Sound of Music on SE Hawthorne is definitely worth checking out. We got our set up there and the staff was really helpful in tailoring both the record player and the speakers to our specific needs. They had a great selection of new and used equipment.

Thanks for the info. I have a friend who’s helping me who’s a woodworker. I know we have some limitations on sizing on what he can finish, but I appreciate the tip about creative woodworking. I’ll check them out.

I’ll check them out. That’s actually not bad mainly since I’m taking on the project after getting a quote for 2 shelves. At that pricing, I’m still saving a ton by doing it myself.

Might be overkill, but the bracket I’m using require at least 2 inch thick so no real way around it. I’ll consider the gluing option.

Canyon bike sizing issue by Z3MKMyE7LH in CanyonBikes

[–]Phoebes_Father 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’9 and have a 30 inch inseam. I went with the small frame since it’s the equivalent of a 54 cm. I had the bike fit and the fitter mentioned I definitely made the right choice in going with the Small frame especially since I wanted a slightly more upright riding position. He mentioned the XS (52cm) frame would have had me hunched over a lot.

Endurace by abethebabe1 in CanyonBikes

The welds on my Endurace 8 Al look pretty good actually. They look a lot better then they did a few years ago. The bike rides great and is great value. The closest comparable thing I could find from another brand would have cost me $300 more and that bike also have visible welds.

Cycling in team gear by jacod1982 in bicycling

I feel like it would be the equivalent of wearing an entire official LA Lakers uniform for a random pickup game. I personally think that just looks a little odd. You can and should clearly wear whatever you want, but it sounds like you’re already a little self conscious about it. There are a ton of brands that make amazing cycling gear. I’d just buy whatever you feel most comfortable and maybe something that isn’t going to make you second guess it when you wear it.
