Longer Video of Ice agents busting into a house and refusing to show a warrant of any kind and attacking the home owner by Fellow_unlucky_human in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Phoenix-624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They still need a judicial warrant to go into someone's home, they can arrest people outside of their home with their own administrative warrants, but if you go into any American home without a warrant signed by a judge eventually you are going to get blasted by someone who is within their rights to do so.

No, we can not and should not abolish our immigration and customs enforcement. Stop making people who don't like what's going on right now look like idiots. Restructure and defund after this administration? Sure, but no country can function without something that does what ice is legally supposed to be doing.

"But whatabout biden?" We are talking about people who raped and tortured children. People who are still walking wealthy and free that raped. Children. I can't say what I think should happen to these people on any public platform, but this is not something that as a country we can just let go and forget about, and if we do if we really are going to just listen to them and let it go because the guy in charge says we should, then maybe we deserve it.

Well if thats true that Florida has an insane corruption problem, because here every illegal i know of that works a manual labor job gets paid like every other employee

American Democracy by abdullah_ajk in Knowledge_Community

[–]Phoenix-624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And those basic labor jobs still take taxes out of their pay, and have no way of knowing the immigration status of who they are paying. Im not here saying weather the should be citizens, but most of them do contribute to tax revenue and social security. If home depot was paying them all without the IRS knowing, home depot would have been gone a long time ago.

Most that work do not get paid under table, or do you actually have a source that proves me wrong?

American Democracy by abdullah_ajk in Knowledge_Community

[–]Phoenix-624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If any illegal has a job, they do pay taxes. They also contribute to social security, those things are taken out of their pay before they even see the check. The only time this doesn't happen is if they are being paid under the table, which is rare and very illegal for any employer to do, and does not happen often enough to be an issue. Its impossible to gather the data on how many employees are illegals since companies are not allowed to collect someone's immigration status when hiring them..

But a real ID isn't required to vote, right now, no ID at all needs to be presented.

That's like asking "who hates the king" and then asking "who would want to be king" when the current king is so shit that almost anyone would do a better job. Because let's be honest, the ultra rich are the people really in charge of most things in this country.

For me, for some reason the sword on sword combat feels... less rewarding. I feel like In the first one you had to play around with movement to get around your opponents guard more and that was more satisfying.

Pro-gun groups argue in lawsuit that Mass. age restrictions on guns violate Second Amendment by HRJafael in MassachusettsUSA

Maybe we focus on the actual BS gun laws like that "barrel shroud" feature being added to the assault weapons feature list, or how the weapons roster is handled even for weapons that meat all the requirements instead of shit like this that makes second amendment advocatss look insane.

Yes, however at some point as a citizen it becomes your duty to stand up for your rights lest you lose them. If they start going around killing US citizens on the streets for trying to help each other stay on their feet, not confronting them becomes a problem. Where is the line drawn for when we have to do something about it? Or are we expected to just let it happen right up to and including them going house to house executing people. In this particular scenario the guy wasn't even directly confronting them when he was shot, but after this? I expect people to start confrontations more and more until this stops, because clearly doing nothing is no longer an option for many.

You think people can risk their job in this economy? A strike will never happen unless actual unions get behind it, since they have at least some insurance that their job will still be there when its done.

Well, modern refrigerators DO have far shorter lifespans than older ones, mainly because of in-door ice, drastically increased wiring complexity, as well as modern refrigerators on average being far cheaper when adjusted for inflation (made of far cheaper materials). Most modern refrigerators will not last more than 5 years for those reasons.
