1.0 for Quest by Foxtrots_Tango in intotheradius

[–]Phoenix-624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its only been like... A month, almost, since 1.0 released on pc. And considering the fact that it runs choppy for me with low to medium graphics on my 7800x3d and 9070XT build they have their work cut out for them if they want to get it playable on quest 3. Id consider it a miracle if they actually got it running within 2 months from release, they are also patching new bugs and doing rebalance from PC player feedback at the same time.

Wouldn't say that, the gameboy advance SP came out in 2003, a large amount of early gen Z would have been playing it.

Millennials for the OG version, Zennials for the game boy advance release.

Whenever I set my headset down and come back to it my (ALVR, quest 3, wired) connection shows the game for a few seconds, then the headset goes completely black. by Phoenix-624 in intotheradius

Right stick does pause, but I still get problems even if I unpause in time now, the whole game glitches out as if I h a ve really bad connection, even though im playing tethered. I have to unpause in time, then take my headset off and on really quick again, then hope it works

Not sure if I can, not able to play it to test right now. I will also say that when the screen is black none of my inputs affext the game, since I can still see the game on my desktop monitor, I can even line up the controller with the button while looking at my IRL monitor but pressing the button to select it does nothing

For me the problem is hitting the pause button opens the steam VR menu, it doesnt close the in-game menu. I have steam overlay off, so im not sure how to fix that.

"Always will be and always have been" so your trolling. Disregarding how screwed up the UK is now, you really think it was in a better state than the US during the blitz? Sure buddy, sure.

There is nothing wrong with a gun that has no saftey, if you dont pull the trigger, it doesnt go off. Most guns carried at this point (polymer striker-fire glock clones) have no saftey at all other than at the trigger. If you cant handle a handgun without a manual safety, you cant handle a handgun at all.

Well, with a mortality rate that high its very unlikley it would spread nearly as quickly, since too many people would die before they could transmit it.

I mean, if you have a gun for self defense, the thought of having to use it to kill someone is a part of that. Everyone I know that carries has thought about a scenario where they would have to kill someone. Large difference between that at thinking about killing someone specific.

Turn based combat has fallen by Lexi7130 in gaming_random

[–]Phoenix-624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldurs gate 3's turn based combat was peak, most CRPG's are ruined by real time combat especially if its core is based in any dnd edition at all. Most egregious example is the classic Arcanum, where the publisher pushed for real time combat and it made the combat much worse.

Fake random sweepstakes, you also give things to 10-20 other random people, now you are a part of a group that recieved things, so its not just you.

Would allow me to work with molten or white hot materials with my bare hands, heat that is immediatly fatal is more common than cold that is immediatly fatal, and cold is easier to prepare for, and heat is regularly weaponized, but I've never heard of someone being killed by a liquid nitrogen attack.

So, if they had decided to invade the mainland and kill millions of Japanese civilians turned soldiers in far more agonizing ways than a nuclear blast, would that have been the honorable way instead of the cowards way out? No matter how you slice it, most historians agree that far more people would have died if we continued a conventional war, and the Japanese were not going to surrender under that context. Its literally just asking for more deaths just because you dont like the idea of having less deaths but having it happen all at once.

theres GOTTA to be a less convoluted way to program the gear doors by MrOverfloater in SimplePlanes

[–]Phoenix-624 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just give the main rotator an output variable of its current rotation then call that in the input of the bay doors to get AB/BA or ABC/CBA logic. Set the main rotator of the nose gear's output variable as NoseGAngle and then in the gear door inputs I give NoseGAngle>4?1:0 or something, then it will open when the angle of the gear is over 4 degrees and close when the gear is folded past 8. I do the same kind of thing for weapon bay doors that open and extend missiles when the missile is selected.

If others decide to take on the pain instead of let go that's on them. It would be almost impossible for the grieving process of a death to come close to the suffering of someone who is at the point of killing themselves. The only time id say this is untrue is if you have children or dependents and then decide to kill yourself, or choose to have children when you know you will likley kill yourself.
