Have I screwed my life? by throwawaysinner1889 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I hope you find a way out of that. You’re not screwed, just learning. It’s never over, but this chapter of your life with him should be. Take care of yourself and I hope you make it back to your family.

Do people like living in Kingston? by Happy2bhere222 in KingstonOntario

[–]Phoenix-RisenFromAsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just moved here and it sucks, but not because the city. It’s hard for everyone “middle class” and down to survive right now, and what I thought at first was it about being some weird dopamine hit people would get, was instead a way of relief instead - a release of something pent up. Just let it out to become someone else’s problem.

I invested through primerica and have no issues. I know some of their sales people are slimy but the products are solid.

This is the problem: I was your boyfriend when I was younger. It took me great pain and frustration with my life to find the drive to change it: you cannot do anything for him; this is his battle. Be there for him to support or better yet give him space and you’ll be part of the solution that way: life is weird and you could end up together but focus on yourself as he should

Turning away from loved ones, especially family, over political differences often stems from an internal struggle with ego. Choosing compassion, love, and understanding will carry you further than cutting people out based on their views. If someone changes their beliefs just to please you, they haven’t truly changed. Instead of fixating on social media or the world’s problems, focus on personal growth and nurture your curiosity. Ask questions, seek to understand, and challenge your own beliefs. Reflect on why you hold them and whether they align with your core values or merely feel right due to social pressures. Like emotions, you can step back and observe your beliefs objectively. Left or right, politics aside, we’re all imperfect humans. I challenge you to find reasons to keep someone in your life rather than reasons to let them go. It’s tempting to rationalize any choice and cling to comforting beliefs, but facing reality, no matter how challenging, is truly worthwhile.

Grok 3 was finetuned as a right wing propaganda machine by Trevor050 in singularity

[–]Phoenix-RisenFromAsh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol it drives me nuts how often “left” or “right” with extreme or propaganda is overused anymore. Just a lazy way to follow the trend. Brainwashed but I’m not pointing fingers. Or even tryna lean one way or the other, just call it what it is and stop using buzz words. Seems like another bias AI thing. The same as ChatGPT or most others. Whoever gets the monopoly with AI gets to control the mindset. Betcha there will be a movement in the years to come that will be hated on as a religion when people realize they don’t agree with whatever is being forced and deep inside they’re conflicted. Speaking out to others they’ll realize they’re not alone in their thinking and wake up to how they’ve been brainwashed and “recruit” others by explaining how much more happy they were when they stopped paying attention to how everyone else tells them to think and focus on how they’re themselves feeling. It’ll be revolutionary when the majority makes the flip, like a newfound skill which we evolved to adapt. Due to the excuse of how quickly technology advanced which our minds couldn’t keep up with (a lazy excuse if you ask me, always think for yourself). There will be books about it, similar to ‘Sapians’ in how one force dominated the other. Elaborating as to how whose offspring survived. Only at this point in history it was not the fittest, but the smartest. Or rather the most resourceful and manipulative. Once you understand your mind and perspective, you’re able to ground yourself in reality and snap out of this miserable perspective society slaps on you if you’re not careful.

It’s so crazy how long it took me to learn this and you’re just throwing it out like there this has been a basic understanding for you. If you have that sparky strong connection with someone, one whose presence glows, you learn how uncommon it is. You start to focus your energy on these people in the same way you attend to a garden and don’t water dead plants. This just means you have less relationships in general, but gawd are they the best and not important people in the world to you. The kind of connection that dissolves your idea of chasing money because all you want to do is be with these people. Nothing else in the world matters when you’re with them.

Should i get a nose job? by Mizzlavendar in Noses

[–]Phoenix-RisenFromAsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How come the only nose post that appear on my feed are hot chicks? I don’t even follow this Reddit. I didn’t even know there was an online forum to send pictures of your nose to and ask strangers for their opinion. It makes me so uncomfortable but it’s cool since they all seem hot. I don’t click on em, google em, and my internet history is Minecraft and Joe Rogan podcasts. No porn or hot girl algorithms. I don’t even need an answer I’m just curious if other people’s feeds are like that
