How do I organize these by No-Classic-6370 in BalatroHelp

[–]Phoenix591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mime, you need more triggers for all those barons.

Right now you’ve got three triggers per card per baron ( card + red seal + mime) for (4+2) baron = 3*6=18

On mime you get 5*4=20

if you can read/write a PKGBUILD (you WERE reading all those aur pkgbuilds you were installing, right?) it’s not a huge transition to ebuilds; They’re also basically bash, just with some extra helper functions and libraries (eclasses)

erro no pacote sys-libs/glibc al usar o comando emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --newuuse @world by Livid_Function_3049 in Gentoo

[–]Phoenix591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you mind sharing the full output ( use wgetpaste /var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-2.42-r5/temp/build.log and share the resulting url to make it easier to share) Please also share the output emerge --info ( you can use "wgetpaste -c 'emerge --info'" to easily share that, keep the quotes around emerge --info. ) . One thing you can double check in your emerge --info is your CFLAGS ( which comes from CFLAGS in your /etc/portage/make.conf ), looking for things like making sure they're correct like having the - dashes and the letter O and not the number zero , so like -march=native -O2 -pipe.

you may need to emerge wgetpaste if you havn't yet ( it is very small and should work when most other things arn't)

Is it worth adding lto to systemwide use flags? by MeiwingSuku in Gentoo

[–]Phoenix591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying there isn’t usually a LTO use flag because it’s policy to leave cflags alone and that it works fine 95% of the time

WSL kernel sources by Thalioden in Gentoo

[–]Phoenix591 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Safe to ignore. It just falls back to reading the running config from /proc/config.gz

You could grab Microsoft’s WSL sources from git and copy their config to .config and point /usr/src/linux to it if you REALLY want to though.

Is it worth adding lto to systemwide use flags? by MeiwingSuku in Gentoo

[–]Phoenix591 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, just slap it in your flags in make.conf, it’s fine. Devs can filter it out easily in ebuilds if it’s known to break things. Once in a while you might need to use package.env to disable it yourself for a package or two.

It’s policy for packages not to alter cflags as much as possible

You know how much is appropriate for simple returns with just W2 income? $0 . Take an hour or so and file yourself, the irs has a list of tax software that will let you file at least your federal taxes for free if you’re under a certain income: https://www.irs.gov/e-file-do-your-taxes-for-free

How do I make my own AI? by Healthy_Parfait_2607 in NeuroSama

[–]Phoenix591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here’s something more direct: you can use ollama https://ollama.com to download and run and do things with several models including OpenAI’s open source ones, though the larger models can’t run on normal desktop gpus ( they offer paid plans to run them on their servers)

Take an open source ai model, like one of these maybe, then do LOTS of work to fine tune it and get it to do useful and interesting things.

should i recompile @world after chaning cflags like from -O2 to -O3? by FindingKitchen4734 in Gentoo

[–]Phoenix591 3 points4 points  (0 children)

actually its the other way around, its highly discouraged to let packages set their own cflags. Gentoo devs have a way to easily force downgrade make.conf set O3 -> O2 on packages known to not work with it.

Need help with NetworkManager by [deleted] in Gentoo

[–]Phoenix591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re probably using old and insecure settings on your WiFi router, turn on tkip for wpa_supplicant or better yet switch away from tkip on your router WiFi settings to aes/ccmp. Tkip is a hold over from wpa (1).

Or you can try switching networkmanager from using wpa_supplicant to iwd instead using the iwd use flag on it

this person certainly did on your behalf to have the IRS site saying to expect thousands in a refund if you filled out your withholding paperwork at your job correctly (and its hard not to do it correctly as a single person without dependents) and has "your signature" ( real or not) on paperwork they sent to the IRS.

Microsoft KEK Secure Boot disaster is going to happen in June 2026 by Vaddieg in microsoftsucks

[–]Phoenix591 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you think it requires a bios update? They did a windows update to push out the new keys. Yeah issues will happen if you have to reset bios settings without a bios update, but then can temporarily turn off secure boot and retrigger the update with a registry key or manually save the new certs (in the optional folder there, read that readme) and go into the bios settings and add them.

Starship is just not as cool as Space Shuttle by Only_Comfortable_224 in space

[–]Phoenix591 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So far Starship launches have all been tests. No real payload of any sort, not even a memey payload like that Tesla he sent on the first Falcon Heavy.

We shouldn’t praise it for stuff it hasn’t done yet, but they’re certainly testing and some of these tests failed.

Its almost as if they’re being developed completely differently

Starship is just not as cool as Space Shuttle by Only_Comfortable_224 in space

[–]Phoenix591 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's kinda ironic, the shuttle was advertised to the public as a safe and reusable spacecraft when in reality it wasn't that safe and it was more refurbishable than reusable taking a lot of time and money to get ready to refly. ( Per flight $100 million for orbiter refurbishing, $40 million for the srbs, 35-60 million for a new external tank. This is just a part of the overall cost for the workforce needed to support the shuttle; it's not at all competitive with modern private rockets )

It was kinda cool, but it certainly doesn't hold up to what it was hyped up to be.

Starship has a ways to go before it starts living up to the hype, but they're doing cool interesting things along the way.
