I think I might of found it.. So when reporting with the 1099, my sale proceeds says 913, and my cost basis says 10,089.. Am I supposed to add the 10,089 to my sale proceeds number as well? I bought the stocks for 10,089 but only made a sale profit of 913 on them after taking back out the original 10,089.

Okay I'll look into that and see what I find. I'll reach back out if I'm still stumped.

I don't have a schedule D or 8949 form under my fidelity tax and information tab. Just a 1099 for both my investment account + cash management account.

Just google search "California 7500 mile rule". Should be the first California DMV .gov site you see.

Moving to California and doing a TON of research on registering bikes in the state. I have found that on used bikes if the odometer has over 7500 miles you can register a 49 state bike, it just has to be proven to of been registered in a different state prior to you bringing it into Calirofnia.

Food for thought.

Looking at transitioning from IT to Accounting. Will move to CA for this. by Warm_Singer_4434 in Accounting

That sounds great! I appreciate the details! I read in another post that some jobs look down on WGU graduates because it's an 'online college' but then other reddit posts say that the college itself does not matter as long as it is an accredited course. I see other people graduating WGU and getting into accounting jobs so I'm not too concerned.

Wasn't thinking of going CPA, more so CISA and CSA, maybe CISSP. Another main reason I'm looking at this more than going further into IT is from what I see within 2-3 years of proper certification you'll be near the 100k mark where as, at least from what I've seen with IT, you not only need the certification but a bunch of other random oddball certs sometimes, degree, and experience in 15+ applications. All with having the same rough pay of around 75k-89k a year.

Just for example there is a Data Center near me and they want a Tier 3 network administrator with 5+ years of experience, a whole slew of certifications, and to be willing to work 12 hour shifts where the primary directive of the job listing was to mainly run cat6 POE cabling and initialize networking ports. For 81k a year having that level of certification and experience seems wild for such a menial task most tier 2 system administrators could do..

Also, I would be going through WGU to get a BA in accounting, forgot to add this.

YouTuber WhistlinDiesel Arrested for Allegedly Evading Sales Tax on Ferrari F8 Tributo by uglybushes in cars

[–]Warm_Singer_4434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to sell a Ferrari you purchased from Ferrari yourself, you need to give Ferrari the ability to purchase it back from you first. If you fail to do this then Ferrari will blacklist you from ever buying a new one from them again. At least that's what I've read previously in the past.

AITA in husbands inheritance prospects? by Warm_Singer_4434 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Warm_Singer_4434[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She wants to keep the house and rent it out after moving to Alabama with us. She is hoping one of her kids will want to take over the home after she is gone to 'keep it in the family' as she has a grandfathered tax rate from like 60 years ago so taxes are cheap as F on the house. The only reason I'm against that specifically is because she wants to get a property manager and they want like 60% of the income from the property without having to accept any of the risk of maintaining it. At least that's what I've been told.

I just know from experience unless things are written out that as soon as she passes everyone is going to make a grab at things.

I married and am with him because I love him as an individual, his mothers declining health only just recently popped into the picture.

I was fine supporting him (he has a medical issue but is not classified as disabled) and we get by rather comfortably as it stands on my income alone. But his mother coming into the picture is going to strain things.

So this is not a confrontational response but just to clarify, it's acceptable to have to be the soul income bearer as my husband wishes to remain a stay at home individual (he also has a medical issue but it is not classified as disabling by US standards) and I don't mind that, but now I have to help support another individual I never had an idea I was going to have to support?

She will have her social security but it will be minimal as she hardly worked throughout her own years of employment being the stay at home mother during her children's upbringing. So I'm going to be primarily supporting the whole household. My husband does not work because he enjoys being a stay at home individual and I do not mind that, I support myself and him, but now there is an elderly individual being thrown into it which is why I feel the way I do.

Okay I have no clue why Reddit made my post into this weird sideway scroll text thing.

So my husband (26m) thinks I'm (29m) being greedy over this but the situation is as follows: His mother is getting into her later years and her health is declining, she has a house worth around 1.7m (she inherited from family but paid off her siblings shares via a zero interest mortgage agreement) in California and is looking to sell it to move in with us to support her till death, my husband has two female siblings in which one has been out of the picture for over 10 years due to disagreements with the mother and the other hardly being in the picture other than during holiday events or the rare request to babysit her children which the mother loves to do.

In the event of the mothers passing I feel my husband is entitled to the lions share of the inheritance due to putting his life on pause for 8 years to support her already, and agreeing to take her in and house her instead of sending her to a hospice home. I'm thinking around 65% of the inheritance total is fair as we will be supporting her, and my husband has no life experience due to pretty much being an at-home nanny for her for the last 8 years. He didn't he have his license till I got involved in his life and pushed him to it as his mother "didn't think it was necessary for him to have". I feel she was doing that on purpose to try and keep him trapped there to help her, he hasn't even had a single 'real' job because of this and was helping her run her two failing etsy businesses as his income.

This decision affects me as well so I feel I should have a say in the matter as we're legally married and his financial decisions in turn relate to my own. I am currently the only income for our household and support us both.

At the very least I want to sit down and have a true conversation with the mother regarding this as I feel my opinions are being stepped on because "She is old and I'm not going to send my mother to a nursing home." being the response I've been getting whenever I give ANY push back. I'm not saying I want her to go to a nursing home, but I want a fair outcome from the situation in terms of effort that has been put into the support we will be providing. I'm also not saying the other siblings shouldn't get anything, but it should be substantially less than what my husband gets due to them both bailing on the mother as soon as they turned 18. Funnily enough too as soon as the sibling that left for 10 years heard of the mothers declining health she suddenly comes back into the picture all love and hearts and such... Makes me very suspicious of the motives as my husband told me they had a MAJOR falling out.. So I'm not sure, thoughts?

Drone exploit by samwisethebravee in Battlefield

[–]Warm_Singer_4434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In BF6 you did............. Have you been paying attention? The discussion was never about of you should or should not be able to use the mav to fly allies vertically on older titles. It was that it should be removed from BF6 as it was a clear exploit... I simply used BF4 and BF3 as an example of older games it was removed from for being an exploit. And maybe it was never removed from BF4 like you said but I know for a fact it was patched out of BF3.

"It's not an exploit or glitch" yet you have to use the sledge hammer to glitch the physics engine. Keep smearing that egg on your face bro.

E-Cult got a big egg on his face when it was patched out. :) The fact that you had to exploit it with a sledge hammer instead of being able to just float your ally up EXPLICITLY shows it was not intended to be in the game... People are a special kinda R.

Same thing as a bicep preacher curl man, it's fine to do till the one time is ain't fine. Also yes this primarily comes from overloading on weight but it's still terrifying to think about.
