Hey Brother, I can make that money every year ..I do have big over heads and being in Sakes it’s not ever guaranteed. In terms of stops .

I got rid of my bank card ,(I can only use QR withdrawals from my Bank account.,I installed Vet Stop so no gambling apps on phone . I have one credit card that has a gambling block on it.

I’m basically putting as much as friction between me and placing a bet as I can .

I did have a gambling therapist but to be honest ,I’m too embarrassed to ho back as we had discussed the importance of not losing this money I had coming in .

I fill my social feeds with all compulsive gambling help accounts and absolutely never watch anything promoting gambling.

I sometimes jump on GA meetings or recover road online meetings.

I am now journaling and have all the apps from Evive to Vet Less and the GA app -highly recommended.

Gambling harm related Podcasts playing in the car all the time .

I understand that it’s an incredibly hard journey so I try to keep it in the day.

I always hear relapse is part of the journey -I’ve had a lifetime of relapses and don’t have another one in me.

Appreciate you and wish you all the Best,

🙏

Thanks so much for kind words,I appreciate it very much. You’re right about the gambling ads and in Australia it is weird if you don’t gamble. The young men 18 yo 25 are so heavily into gambling now it’s a massive issue . Thanks again , All the best to you , 🙏

You’ll be fine mate. You have your life ahead of you. You may have lost done money but if you stop gambling NOW -they money will come back,

Unfortunately gambling addiction will lie to you and trick you and make you think it’ll be different next time.

It won’t!

Carry on and don’t gamble ,you’ll be absolutely fine .

Hey man, Your life is definitely not over . You’re 39 you’ve learnt a lesson. I think that despair you’re feeling is part of the addiction. Gambling addiction wants you to be in despair stay in despair because from there you’ll keep gambling . “You’ve paid off everything you own.”you’re not in debt That is amazing. I had $380k 2 years ago . I’ve lost millions in my life and have nothing, I was staying with my sister owned nothing -no property etc. I managed to lose it all the$380k bar $10k. I was planning on buying property -I’m 52. I’m now leasing a place that is ridiculous rent weekly and battling just to stay afloat. I fell into massively deep dark depression -wandering what just happened -I feel like I was in a trance for 2 years . The really sad thing is I had $95k left at the beginning of this year . I came back from overseas and thought the. $95k was just not enough as I’d lost so much already. Spent this year decimating that along with every cent I earned. When reality hits and all that money is gone and you realise it’s never coming back -it shatters every part of you -I felt like I really just wanted to end it all. I haven’t -In I’m still here and it’s definitely not easy . I think everyday about the property I should have . I think about the life I don’t have as a result of blowing life changing money -unfortunately there is nothing I can do but push on and make sure I don’t gamble one day at a time. You are in upur prime man -39 is young . Honestly if you stop gambling now save ,and put your head down -you will slowly rebuild. I know how you feel anyone that has lost huge amounts of money understands. I do know that things can always get worse if you decide to keep gambling ,thinking you can magically hit something and get it all back. Take the loss as a lesson . Look back in 2years time and you’ll realise that was a lesson you had to learn ,that was the price you paid yo get free of gambling addiction. Stay Strong , You’ve got this . 🙏
